The Jags then showed more encouraging signs at the weekend, coming from behind to draw 1-1 away atLivingston before securing an additional bonus point via a penalty shootout victory.
As a result, Thistle now know that a win against Stenhousemuir on Tuesday night would guarantee top spot in the section and secure automatic qualification to the round of 16.
Notably, Partick managed to go through the entirety of last season's Scottish Championship campaign unbeaten at home, which does not bode well for Stenhousemuir. Although Marvin Bartley’s side have six points on the board, their opening two victories have come against teams operating two and three tiers below them in the SPFL pyramid, respectively.
