I think Danny Noppert can deliver a minimum of five 180’s during his second round showdown with Nathan Aspinall at the European Championship on Saturday night. Noppert’s knack for filling up the treble 20 bed often goes under the radar, evidenced by the fact that the Dutchman has racked up over 400 maximums across 2025. 

Impressively, ‘The Freeze’ fired in seven 180’s when seeing off compatriot Dirk van Duijvenbode at the first round stage on Friday night. As such, I think there is plenty of scope for Noppert to cover the over 4.5 line here, especially now that we’re moving into a race to 10 legs. Moreover, I think Aspinall and Noppert could push each other to their limits on Saturday night, so there should be ample opportunity for the latter to land five or more maximums during this contest.

It's also worth noting that only Luke Humphries (35) and Luke Littler (32) hit more 180’s than Noppret (25) at the World Grand Prix earlier this month, further highlighting just how strong Noppert has been on the 180 front of late.

I’m fully expecting Luke Humphries to overcome Cameron Menzies when the pair face off at the European Championship on Saturday night. ‘Cool Hand' kicked off his bid for what would be a maiden European Championship title by producing a stunning display to dismantle Krzysztof Ratajski 6-0. It was an early statement of intent from the world number one who averaged a whopping 109 when emphatically whitewashing the ‘Polish Eagle’. 

While Menzies caused a mini upset by seeing off Gary Anderson in round one, repeating the trick against Humphries will be a tall order. The two players came up against each other at the quarter-final stage of the World Grand Prix earlier this month, with Humphries claiming a comfortable 3-1 success in sets. That victory means Cool Hand has taken top honours from each of his three meetings with Menzies this year, and I think he will prove too strong for the Scotsman again on Saturday night.
