Scoring System

My unique points scoring system makes the game more engaging and competitive.


The higher your score, the better. Points are awarded for each correctly predicted position in a group:


  • +4 points for 1st place.
  • +3 points for 2nd place.
  • +2 points for 3rd place.
  • +1 point for 4th place.
  • 0 points for an incorrect place.
  • -4 points for a Disaster Group (all 4 places wrong).

Whoever tops the leaderboard at the end of the season will win £1,000 cash. A perfect prediction wins £1,000,000.

Mini-Leagues

If you’ve got any friends you can compete against them in your own private league.


After making a prediction you can create a mini league, share the code and rip the p*ss out of whoever finishes last.

There are also leaderboard prizes for the three players that get the closest: £1,000 cash for 1st place, £500 for 2nd place and £250 for 3rd place.

The game has been insured, so the £1,000,000 isn't coming out of my pocket.

The deadline is 20:00 BST on the 11th of June, the day of the opening match between Mexico and South Africa. That means entries are accepted right up until the match kicks off.

The £1,000,000 jackpot would be shared equally between everyone who correctly predicts the group stage.

Yes, you must be 18 at the time of entry to play and be eligible for all prizes. ID will be required if you win the jackpot or any leaderboard prize.

Yes you can, but only UK and Ireland residents are eligible to win the £1,000,000 jackpot and leaderboard prizes.


Irish residents are now eligible for the jackpot, having not been eligible in my £1,000,000 Premier League Predictor last season.

It's hard to predict the exact 48 group places, so I've created a points scoring system so we can rank every player in terms of who gets the closest. The points scoring system rewards every correct place in each group, with a penalty if you get all four places wrong in a group.


If you top the leaderboard at the end of the group stage you win £1,000 cash, 2nd place gets £500 and 3rd place gets £250. There are also tie-breakers if anyone is level.
