Friday European Accumulator Tips

Fixtures for: Friday 19th September

Sparta Rotterdam v FC Twente

Eredivisie

19:00

Both Teams to Score

Sparta Rotterdam have made an exciting start to the campaign with 18 goals across their opening five games of the Eredivisie season (3.6 per game). This record has resulted in three wins for the home side here who have seen BTTS in two of their matches.

They line up against a Twente side that has made a disappointing start to the season with just one win from their opening five matches. They should improve as the weeks progress, seeing as they finished sixth in the Eredivisie last season, scoring 62 goals across their 34 matches (1.82 per game).

Twente scored at a similar rate to which they conceded on the road last season with 26 goals scored and 28 goals shipped across their 17 away matches. They only managed to win five of these games which is a record that will encourage a Sparta Rotterdam side. However, Rotterdam’s backline looks vulnerable at the moment with 11 goals conceded across the opening few matches.

Stuttgart v St Pauli

Bundesliga

19:30

Over 0.5 St Pauli Goals

St Pauli have made a really strong start to the season, remaining undefeated across their three Bundesliga games so far this season and scoring at least once in all of these fixtures.

They’ve recorded victories against Hamburg and Augsburg so far but this will be their toughest assignment to date against a Stuttgart side who have conceded five goals across their opening three games of the season.

Stuttgart were quite an open side at home last season. They won seven of their 17 home games and didn’t really care for clean sheets as they conceded 27 goals across these matches (1.58 per game). They offset this record by scoring 35 goals themselves (2.05 per game).

Furthermore, St Pauli were pretty decent when it came to finding the back of the net on the road last season. They scored 18 goals across their 17 away matches and will be confident of finding the back of the net here given their strong start to the season.

St Pauli scored in this fixture last season as they ran out 1-0 winners over Stuttgart, they generated an xG of 2.16 on that occasion.

Rio Ave v Porto

Liga Portugal

19:45

Porto to Win

Porto have been really impressive in the early weeks of the domestic season in Liga Portugal, winning all five of their matches by an aggregate scoreline of 12-1. This improvement is largely down to the appointment of Francesco Farioli who has instilled a clear structure and vision for the side which is proving to be really effective.

Rio Ave are yet to record a victory this season, drawing three of their four matches so far. They’ve conceded nine goals across these games, but have also managed to score seven goals which is a scoring power that could unsettle Porto. However, Ave’s inability to turn a point into three in the early parts of the season would suggest that even if they can breach the Porto backline here, they will struggle to see the game out.

Porto have a dominant record in the head to head clashes between the sides. Of the 33 meetings in modern history, Porto have won 26 of them (78%) and only lost once. Porto ran out 2-0 winners against Rio Ave last season as the home side but did drop points on the road against these opponents as the sides contested a 2-2 draw last term.

Betis v Real Sociedad

La Liga

20:00

Over 2.5 Goals

Both sides saw over 2.5 goals in their most recent LaLiga outings as Betis contested a 2-2 draw with Levante and Sociedad fell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid.

Betis’ season has started with a lot of goals at both ends. They’ve seen 12 across their five matches so far with an equal split in goals scored and goals conceded. They have drawn three of their opening matches so Pellegrini will be eyeing up a more forceful performance to ensure that Betis get all three points.

Sociedad are yet to register their first victory of the season and could be in for a tough campaign having lost key players over the last few months. They’ve drawn two and lost two of their games in LaLiga so far with Sociedad seeing 10 goals across these games (4 goals, 6 conceded).

Over 2.5 goals landed in this fixture last season with Betis covering this line themselves as they ran out 3-0 winners over Sociedad. Sociedad did receive two red cards in that game, one of which came after 20 minutes, so it is a bit of a skewed result. However, the start that both sides have made to the season would suggest that goals should flow at the Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla.
