Palace head to Florence in a dominant position, three goals to the good thanks to goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta, Tyrick Mitchell and Ismaila Sarr in the first leg. Oliver Glasner's side are unbeaten in their last seven Conference League games and they have looked back to their best since returning after the international break.

The Eagles were unstoppable at this point last year, which was around when Glasner made his debut for the club. They showed glimpses of re-discovering that form in the first leg, as Palace racked up 17 shots and seven big chances in the first leg, worth 3.05 xG. In return, Fiorentina managed just eight shots worth 0.45 xG, and Dean Henderson had a very easy job.

Palace pulled off another impressive win against Newcastle last time out, securing the comeback after Mateta netted a brace, so they come into this clash in a very good spot.

Fiorentina have bags of experience in the Conference League, but they have been poor this season, and there appears to be a real gulf in quality between the two sides. With that being said, Fiorentina won’t have given up just yet. Playing in front of their home crowd at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, La Viola will have to pose a much greater threat going forward, and they are likely to commit bodies forward into their attacks right from the outset. The Italian side have scored in 13 of their last 14 home matches across all competitions, which is a positive sign.

However, their attack-minded tactics are likely to leave them vulnerable on the break. The Eagles have the firepower to cause problems on the break, with the likes of Brennan Johnson and Ismaila Sarr. BTTS has landed in both second-leg knockout ties for Fiorentina this season, against Jagiellonia and Rakow, respectively.

Fiorentina didn’t have much success going forward in the first leg, but Cher Ndour accounted for one shot, which went narrowly over the crossbar. The Italian international played the full 90 in that match, highlighting his importance in midfield, and he has an excellent shot record in recent weeks.

Ndour scored against league-leaders Inter Milan just before the international break to help his side secure an unlikely point. He then scored in both matches for the Italian U21 side during the international break, extending his positive form. The 21-year-old is averaging 1.40 shots per 90 across all competitions this season, rising steeply to 1.77 when playing in the Conference League.

He has hit this mark in 11 out of 12 starts on the European stage this campaign, with multiple shots in seven of those matches. Ndour has looked eager to prove himself, and he tends to take things up a gear in the tougher matchups, so he is one to watch here.

Sarr has been Palace's standout performer this season and he added to his goalscoring tally with a deserved goal late on against Fiorentina. He scored the third goal with an accurate header from Daichi Kamada's cross in stoppage time, taking his Conference League tally to six goals from 11 appearances. Sarr has now registered a shot on target in 10 of his last 13 starts across all competitions since returning from AFCON, which shows how much of a responsibility he is given in the final third.

Palace are likely to sit back and look to play on the counter here, so there should be space in behind for Sarr to run into. He excels in these kinds of matchups, where he can utilise his pace and directness, and Fiorentina have shown a weakness at the back this season.
