FC Darmstadt v Sandhausen (Bundesliga 2)
🏟
Friday 11th March – 5:30PM KO
Darmstadt face off against Sandhausen in a home game which they should be winning to keep their title aspirations going. Darmstadt are currently second, on goal difference, which would mean they would achieve promotion to the Bundesliga at the end of the season. They managed to beat Heidenheim despite falling 2-0 behind last week. Darmstadt have now won 14 league matches and have scored the most goals in the league, 52 in 25 matches. Their 3-2 win over Heidenheim now marks a streak of four games without losing, and they have only lost one out of their last nine as well.
Sandhausen are struggling, but their results have not been too bad lately. They are 10 points ahead of the direct drop zone but just three above Dynamo Dresden who sit in sixteenth which would mean promotion/relegation playoffs. Sandhausen haven’t lost their last six games though, and only one out of their last ten. They may even cause an upset here, but it does seem very likely they will not come out of this match as a losing side. In fact, Sandhausen’s away record is quite good. They would be sixth looking just at way results, winning 2 and drawing 3 of their last five.
Darmstadt should be able to field their ideal line-up, while Sandhausen do miss a few fringe players, but these players have missed so many minutes this season we can’t really consider this to be much of an impact currently.
Normally this would be a Darmstadt home win, but considering Sandhausen’s latest results I’m not too convinced. In fact, they could even steal a draw or a win here. Realistically though, I do think both sides will find the net. Sandhausen have done so in 5 of their last 6, scoring nine goals, while highest-scoring Darmstadt have scored in 22 of their last 23 games.

Viktoria Berlin v TSV 1860 München (3. Liga)
🏟
Friday 11th March – 6:00PM KO
It’s a poor performing home side in Viktoria Berlin facing off against an in-form 1860 München. Viktoria Berlin find themselves in the relegation zone, with 28 points from 28 games.
They trail Türkgücü by one point with one game in hand, but both Duisburg and Zwickau have built up a four point lead. Unfortunately for Viktoria, things haven’t been going their way. They have lost six of their last eight, and drew twice, with the draws coming against Verl and Havelse who are ranked below them.
TSV 1860 München are currently fifth. They trail third ranked Braunschweig by five points, so they still have a chance of achieving promotion. TSV have also booked three straight wins, so they should be carrying some momentum into this match. Merveille Biankadi and Marcel Bär both scored a goal against Verl, and they have now combined for 20 goals
Backup Deyi Bayreuther is unavailable for Viktoria Berlin. TSV 1860 München also don’t have many injury problems however. Marius Willsch is injured, he’s usually a starting player, but has only appeared in 9 games so far. I don’t expect this to cause many problems for either side, they can play how they have been playing recently. For TSV this will be with Bär up front and the attacking, creative sparks of Biankadi, as well as Richard Neudecker (5 goals, 6 assists) and Stefan Lex (5 goals, 9 assists)
