Gary Anderson v Gian Van Veen Expert Tips & Predictions
The last of this year’s four quarter-final ties at the Grand Slam of Darts will see Gary Anderson go up against Gian van Veen on Saturday night.
Anderson claimed top honours in Group G before going on to beat Stephen Bunting 10-6 in the round of 16. As for van Veen, he put in a string of impressive performances to take top spot in Group H and he has since put in a ruthless display to dispatch Ryan Joyce 10-2.

Gary Anderson v Gian Van Veen Best Bet
🎯 Over 9.5 Gian Van Veen 180s
📈 Odds: 1.83
Former two-time world champion Anderson has been in great form all year, however his price to beat a player of van Veen’s ability is too short, especially given how well the Dutchman has played in Wolverhampton over the last week. So rather than backing either player in terms of the overall result, instead look to van Veen to deliver a minimum of 10 180s.
‘The Giant’ has been firing in 180s for fun en-route to the quarter-final stage, having racked up a combined total of 18 maximums across his four outings thus far, a return bettered only by Luke Littler (20). What’s more, van Veen has been one of the most frequent 180 hitters across the entire PDC this year, with his overall tally of 426 to date ranking him 15th.
The 22-year-old hit seven of those maximums when making light work of Joyce in the previous round. Thus, there is plenty of scope for him to reach double figures in what will be a race to 16. Furthermore, van Veen can expect a much tougher test from Anderson, with 26+ legs certainly within the realms of possibility on Saturday night. The bookmakers are clearly expecting a barrage of 180s from the pair, and on current form van Veen has to be fancied to hit 10 or more.
