Aberdeen v Hibs (Premiership)
🏟
Saturday 19th March – 3:00PM KO
Aberdeen and Hibs have both played out campaigns that have been thoroughly disappointing given the standards they have set themselves in recent years. Both have seen managerial changes in recent months, but while the arrival of Shaun Maloney at the Edinburgh club has at least stabilised them, it has not transformed their fortunes.
Indeed, Hibs can lay claim to being the most boring side in the UK at present. Five of their last nine league matches have finished without a single goal, while only one of their last 10 has seen both teams find the net. Indeed, it has been 288 minutes since anyone scored in a match involved Hibs – a quite incredible run.
Aberdeen, meanwhile, are coming off the back of more than 250 minutes without scoring themselves, though at least during that run they have made trips to Heart and Rangers. Low-scoring draws have been a common feature of their games lately, and only three of their last 13 in the league have seen more than two goals scored.
Both previous meetings between these sides this season have finished 1-0 to the home side and there is nothing that points to a turnaround in fortunes for either in front of goal any time soon.
In each of the last six games between these sides, backing Under 2.5 goals and against both teams to score would have been a winning bet. Expect that to continue.

Partick v Hamilton (Championship)
🏟
Saturday 19th March – 3:00PM KO
Partick Thistle will be hoping to take a step closer to the promotion playoffs on Saturday when they entertain Hamilton at Firhill.
Matches at the Glasgow venue have invariably been low scoring in recent months, whether it has been Partick or groundshare partners Queen’s Park who have been playing. Part of the reason for this has been the dreadful state of the playing surface, which is in no way conducive to attacking football. Patrick have had 10 successive home matches that have produced two goals or fewer.
Hamilton, meanwhile, have been little better in recent weeks even on superior pitches. Although they drew 2-2 with bottom side Dunfermline last weekend, that ended a run of six successive games without one yielding three goals or more.
Accies are likely to make the trip to Glasgow with the mindset that a point would not be a bad result. They are not close enough to the bottom two to need a victory with particular urgency, while there is no chance of the promotion playoffs. Given they have not scored in their last three away matches, there are no signs they are about to explode in that capacity now.
Partick do have the upper hand in matches between the pair so far this season, winning two and drawing the other, but the wretched state of their field is likely to make this game a low-scoring lottery. The hosts should have enough to win it, but backing against goals makes most sense.

Alloa v Peterhead (League One)
🏟
Saturday 19th March – 3:00PM KO
Alloa have the chance to effectively end any prospect of relegation when they host Peterhead on Saturday. Barry Ferguson was recently sacked to be replaced by Brian Rice, and although they have yet to win, they have picked up a couple of useful draws against leading clubs.
Indeed, the three games Rice has overseen have been against top-four sides. This is the first game that would appear to be winnable for the Wasps, who went to Peterhead as recently as six weeks ago and claimed a 1-0 win.
The visitors, meanwhile, are in poor form. Hampered by injury problems, especially in defence, they have suffered defeats in six of their last eight matches. During that time, they have picked up a solitary victory, which was a laboured 4-3 home success against a Dumbarton team that scored against them despite having two players sent off at the time.
Peterhead also have no form away from home this season. They have picked up only two road wins in 14 matches and have conceded a monstrous 31 goals in those fixtures.
One of their two away wins was against Alloa, but on that occasion the Wasps were reduced to 10 men before half-time as goalkeeper David Hutton was sent off. And despite the reduced numbers of the Clackmannanshire side, they were also able to score.
Given the generous odds and the differing trajectories of these clubs, the home side can be confidently backed.
