Chelsea v Tottenham Bet Builder 🧱 @ 3.20

Joao Pedro scored when these sides met earlier in the season, accounting for five of the nine shots on target that Chelsea had in the game - the most he’s had in a Premier League game this season.

Joao Pedro’s overall output as a number nine has improved since the turn of the year, he’s much better at occupying defenders and getting shots away. He’s averaging 0.98 shots on target per 90 in the Premier League this season.

Despite Chelsea’s clear issues when it comes to actually putting the ball in the back of the net, they rank second for expected goals (65.0) and are averaging 4.40 shots on target per game in the Premier League.

Enzo Fernandez was fouled twice when these sides met earlier in the season, with Tottenham committing 14 fouls overall in the contest.

Fernandez has been fouled in three of his last five Premier League matches, winning two fouls in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield. Fernandez was also fouled three times in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup final to Manchester City.

Fernandez has won 42 fouls across his 33 starts in the Premier League this season (1.29 per 90), and will face up against a combative midfield of Gallagher, Palhinha and Bentancur:

Gallagher - 1.86 fouls per 90 (1.14 for 1+ foul)
Palhinha - 1.06 fouls per 90 (1.30 for 1+ foul)
Bentancur - 0.89 fouls per 90 (1.25 for 1+ foul)

Chelsea have struggled with discipline all season and picked up 2+ cards after just 32 minutes at Wembley last time out with Fernandez and Cucurella both going in the book.

Chelsea also collected four yellow cards in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool in their most recent Premier League game and have picked up 83 cards across the season as a whole - only Brighton (86) and Tottenham (93) have picked up more cautions than the Blues.

Chelsea collected two yellow cards from 12 fouls when these sides met earlier on in the campaign, and I’d expect both to contribute to the intensity of this rivalry again with Chelsea trying to blunt Tottenham’s chances of survival.

There were 11 match corners when these sides met earlier in the season, and both teams have used corners as a route to goal this term in line with the general trend we’ve seen in the Premier League.

Chelsea have seen 9+ match corners in 15 of their 18 games at Stamford Bridge this season (83%), only Villa (89%) are clearing this line more often at home in the Premier League this campaign.

Chelsea have also seen 9+ match corners in 78% of their games overall in the Premier League this term, with only four sides in the Premier League seeing more corners per game than the Blues this year (10.39 per game).

Tottenham aren’t too far behind the Blues in this list, seeing 10.31 corners per game in their Premier League matches this season.

Chelsea v Tottenham Card Double 🔥 @ 9.50

Levi Colwill only recently returned from injury but is already a fixture in the Chelsea starting lineup again due to how important he is for the Blues.

Colwill’s limited minutes this term probably inform this generous price, but he collected nine yellow cards across 35 starts for Chelsea in the Premier League last season - only Moises Caicedo (11) was cautioned more often than the centre back.

Colwill will be in quite a battle with Richarlison (1.51 fouls won per 90), who will look to get close to Colwill to stop him trying to pick out clever passes through the lines which is one of his main strengths.

Conor Gallagher has picked up two yellow cards across his last three matches for Tottenham, averaging 1.86 fouls committed per 90 across his 12 starts since joining the club.

Tottenham have picked up more yellow cards than any other side in the Premier League this season (93 - 2.58 per game).

Tottenham committed 14 fouls and picked up four yellow cards when these sides met earlier in the season, Gallagher wasn’t at the club for that game but the three starting midfielders combined to commit six of these fouls.

Gallagher is facing up against his former club, he’s likely to get a harsh reception from the Chelsea fans in what will be an intense game given the previous battles between these sides.
