The Guineas Glassics are the first two Classics of the season, and as a result the 1000 and 2000 Guineas are some of the world's most famous flat races.

Puerto Rico to Win

PUERTO RICO appears to be Aidan O’Brien’s main contender for this season’s first UK Classic — the G1 2000 Guineas over a mile at Newmarket. The son of Wootton Bassett brings plenty of experience to the race, having won three times from eight starts — with back-to-back Group One successes in France to end last year’s juvenile campaign. He made all in both of those runs, and despite his trainer’s modest record in this race recently, certainly appeals as one to take another step up this year. The fact we know he stays a mile augurs well here, and of those towards the front of the market, he holds solid credentials if allowed to dictate matters from the front.
