The Dutch midfielder was used as a right back towards the end of the last campaign, picking up two yellow cards in the last four games of the season. He average 0.54 yellow cards per 90, and 2.1 fouls per 90. His price, 5.0, suggests a 25% chance of a booking, which looks wrong to me.

He could be up against Alex Iwobi playing from the left-hand side, or maybe Emile Smith-Rowe who has operated from the flank in pre-season. Neither are big foul drawers, however, with Brighton at home and wanting to get off to a positive start in front of their own fans, there is potential for Wieffer being caught on the counter and having to resort to foul play.

Following the departure of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich, Sasa Lukic became Fulham’s new midfield destroyer. He even followed Palhinha’s 13 cards in 2023/24 with 12 of his own last season.

From a deep midfield position, Lukic is tasked with covering over behind attacking full-backs as well as operating in the centre of the pitch. Brighton usually play with three attacking midfielders behind a striker, so Lukic can expect to have plenty of nippy attacking buzzing in between the lines. 

His price is quite short at 3.0, but it should be shorter in my opinion.

Sunderland are back in the top flight after an eight-year absence, which should amount to a fantastic atmosphere at the Stadium of Light as they host West Ham United.

Northern Ireland right back Trai Hume is the player of interest here, fresh from signing a new five-year deal earlier this week. He takes no prisoners with his tackling, but can overstep the mark at times, with 11 yellow cards and 1 red in the Championship last season.

He will be up against the Hammers' new left wing back Malick Diouf, who was fouled 1.5 times per 90 in European competitions last season, and comes highly rated. Lucas Paqueta will also drift out to that left-hand channel, and we know he is never shy in getting involved in any shenanigans.
