The bookies seem to expect Slovenia to rack up the corners, but it’s difficult to see why, given they’ve averaged no more than 2.43 so far during the competition. Slovenia have not once exceeded the fourmark, making six seem an improbable outcome.

During the Euros, Slovenia boasted the fourth-worst corners record and the worst one of any side qualifying for the knockout stages, averaging just three taken per game with this selection once again, winning on all four occasions.

Slovakia have averaged a respectable 4.14 corners conceded per game in the Nations League, limiting their opposition to five or fewer corners in seven of their 11 games across the Nations League and Euros.

Serbia have averaged an uninspiring total of 3.14 corners per game during the Nations League, winning three or fewer in six of their seven clashes. They won no more than two corners in Austria last time out, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given their opponent’s corner-preventing record.

Austria have conceded a mere average of 2.29 corners per match in the competition, even lower than the 3.75 they boasted during the Euros. Across the two competitions, their opponents have won under five corners in nine of their 11 games, and it would be a surprise if Serbia were the team to break this streak.

Denmark have boasted an impressive average of 5.57 corners per game in The Nations League, with this selection coming home in all seven of their matches, including two games against Spain and the reverse leg against Portugal. Across those three tougher fixtures, Denmark accumulated 17 corners, notably winning seven against Sunday’s prospective opponents.

They also averaged 6.75 corners per game during the Euros – the fourth-most of any side, winning at least three in all of their matches.

Portugal aren’t the most astute side at preventing opposition corners, conceding an average of 5.29 per game in the competition. They’ve conceded four or more in six of their seven Nations League clashes, in addition to both Euros knockout clashes (against France and Slovenia).

Spain’s games in the Nations League have produced an average of just 9.85 corners, although this falls to 8.67 when playing at home, where they average just three conceded per game, with this selection a winner in all three. Spain’s Euros matches averaged just 8.85 corners, with five out of seven producing under 10.5 and four of them seeing eight or fewer taken.

It’s been a similar story for the Netherlands, whose matches have averaged 9.29 corners, with this selection a winner in 10 out of 13 across the Nations League and Euros.

The corner count in the reverse leg rose no higher than six, with Spain managing four to the Netherlands’ two.
