Thursday’s Europa Conference League Accumulator Tips
Lille v Aston Villa
It is Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side who hold the advantage going into Thursday’s second leg against Lille after a solid 2-1 win at Villa Park in the first leg.
The Villans are faced with a tough task as opponents Lille are unbeaten at home in the Conference League this season and have conceded just two goals in that time. In total, the French side have seen ten goals scored across their four Conference League home games for a season-wide average of 2.5 goals per game.
While Villa’s away form in the Conference League this season hasn’t been the greatest, the Premier League side have seen plenty of goals, with 12 scored across their four games on the road for a total average of 3 goals per game.
It was a fantastic away performance from the English side last time out as they left it late to triumph 2-0 over title hopefuls Arsenal at the Emirates and Emery will hope his team can put on a similar performance on Thursday evening.
With what is at stake in the second leg, both teams score offers value in Lille v Aston Villa.
Fenerbahce v Olympiacos
It was a thrilling first leg between Fenerbahce and Olympiakos at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskaki as the Greek side emerged 3-2 victors, nearly blowing a 3-0 lead in the game.
The second leg in Turkey is perfectly poised, with Ismail Kartal’s Fenerbahce side picking up three wins from their four Conference League home games this season, while Olympiakos are yet to lose in the competition.
Fener have had a fantastic 2023/24 season so far, losing just five across 41 league and European games in total. Of those 41 games, they have won 32 and, in those fixtures, have seen goals galore, with 176 netted for a total season-wide average of 4.29 goals per game.
Of those 41 games Fenerbahce have played this season, 20 of them have been at home and in those fixtures the Turkish side have suffered just two losses, boasting a fantastic home record this season.
With how the tie is set up ahead of the second leg, Fenerbahce are very well placed to completely wipe out the three-goal deficit they, at one stage, faced in the first leg. We’re on the side on the hosts in Fener v Olympiakos.
