Brisbane Roar v Wellington Phoenix
🏟
Saturday 12th March – 6:05AM KO
Brisbane Roar saw their disappointing form continue last week when they were defeated 2-1 by Central Coast Mariners in the A-League. That loss means The Roar have lost four of their last five games. Wellington Phoenix picked up a 3-2 win over Newcastle Jets in midweek, a win that saw them jump into the top six.
Brisbane Roar have really struggled to find their form this season and the side are currently bottom of the league, having lost eight of their 13 games this season. They’ve really struggled in front of goal, averaging less than a goal a game and the side have now scored just once in their last three games as their nightmare season rolls on.
Wellington Phoenix are in fine form, going seven games without loss following that win against Newcastle. They’ve picked up 17 points from a possible 21 and are now in prime position to qualify for the Finals Series, sitting three points clear of seventh place Sydney, with three games in hand.
Wellington haven’t enjoyed the best away form this season and this is their first game on the road since New Year’s Day. Despite this they should still be confident of taking something from this game with Brisbane being in such poor shape. The double chance market gives a little security in backing Wellington, just in case Brisbane can rediscover a bit of form.

Western United v Melbourne City
🏟
Saturday 12th March – 6:05AM KO
Western United continued their fantastic season with a 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets last week, a win that increased their unbeaten run to eight. Melbourne City come into the game off the back of a 3-1 win over Macarthur, with the reigning champions winning six of their last game matches.
Western United are currently in second place in the league, stopped from topping the table by their opponents this weekend. The side have succeeded this season off the basis of an excellent defence and efficient attack, with just 19 goals scored but only 12 conceded. They have lost just three times this season, leading the league for long periods but their lack of goals could end up costing them.
Melbourne City have certainly brought the entertainment this season with their games averaging 3.5 goals this season. They have scored 36 goals in 17 games, showing their proficiency in attack but they have been poor in defence, conceding 24 times, more than the bottom three in the league and double the amount of Western United. This game could go a long way in deciding who win the league this season and should certainly be an entertaining clash. Western United have already beaten Melbourne City this season but the away side look much stronger now and this game looks too close to call. There should be plenty of action in both penalty areas though and the over 2.5 goal market appeals.

Perth Glory v Sydney FC
🏟
Saturday 12th March – 8:05AM KO
Perth Glory fell to another loss last week, being defeated 2-1 by Adelaide United. This means the side have now gone four games without a win. Sydney FC have gone even longer without a victory, extending their winless run to five after their 2-0 loss to city rivals, Western Sydney Wanderers, last weekend.
Perth Glory have struggled for goals all season, scoring just 12 this season, under a goal a game on average. This hasn’t been helped by the injury problems of Daniel Sturridge continuing during his time at the club. They have picked up just one point from their last four games, sitting just one point off the bottom of the league.
Sydney FC haven’t enjoyed their season so far, falling out of the top six in midweek when Wellington picked up another victory. Sydney have drawn two of their last five games, winning just two points from a possible 15 and they now face an upwards battle to qualify for Finals Series football this season. There won’t be many people who will know how this game will go with both teams struggling for form in recent weeks. It doesn’t look like there will be many goals in this game though, with Perth scoring an average of a goal a game over their last five, and Sydney not even managing that with three goals in five games. This makes the under 2.5 goal market look really appealing

Macarthur v Western Sydney Wanderers
🏟
Saturday 12th March – 8:45AM KO
Macarthur extended their winless run to three games with their defeat to Melbourne City in midweek. The side now just have a four point cushion over Sydney FC in the fight for the top six. Western Sydney Wanderers were able to pick up just their second win in six games with their 2-0 win over Sydney FC last weekend.
Macarthur have seen their form dip in recent weeks and they’ve now gone three games without a win. This has put their place in the top six in jeopardy as the race for Finals Series football hots up. Despite their results, they have been able to score at a very good rate, with four goals in three games but a weakened defence has keep them from claiming any more than one point from a possible nine.
Western Sydney Wanderers’ win over bitter rivals, Sydney FC, last weekend was very welcome with the Wanderers really struggling for form prior to the result. They will be hoping that victory acts as a catalyst to better things but their away form has been woeful, with just one win from six games on the road so far this season.
Neither of these sides come into this game in the best of form, making the outcome of this game harder to predict. Macarthur seem to be going through a poor run of form though, whilst Western Sydney’s issues could run a little deeper. The security of the draw no bet market prevents pretty of value when backing Macarthur, who have lost just once at home this season.

Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets
🏟
Sunday 13th March – 8:15AM KO
Adelaide United made it three wins in four with a 2-1 victory over Perth Glory last weekend as they look to make a late title push. Newcastle Jets weren’t able to find a victory in their last match though, being defeated 3-2 by Wellington Phoenix.
Adelaide have seen their form improve over recent weeks and they have now picked up 16 points from a possible 24. They remain eight points off the top of the table so a title challenge is looking unlikely but the side look as though they have the belief to overturn the deficit. The last three victories for the side have all been won by a 2-1 scoreline as they continue to see out games well.
Newcastle Jets have been one of the most exciting teams to watch this season, scoring 23 times and conceding 26 times in 14 games. This averages to 3.5 goals a game, a league-high, and goals certainly look like flying in whenever The Jets take the field. They’ve gone three games without a win but have scored five goals in that time, with their leaky defence causing them many issues.
Picking a winner in this match might not be the easiest thing but it certainly looks like goals could be on the agenda with two teams that score at a really high rate, whilst also conceding more than a goal a game. The over 2.5 goal market looks the value here with both sides playing with such an open style.
