Yaya Sithole had a game to forget in South Africa’s opening World Cup match. With all eyes on the opening fixture, Sithole made the mistake which allowed Mexico to open the scoring, before then being shown a red card in the second-half - that was his third foul of the game. 

Sithole had an average of 2.16 fouls per 90 in the Portuguese top flight this season, playing for Tondela. He made 26 appearances, of which 16 were starts, and picked up six bookings. 

He can at times be quite clumsy in his challenges, which bodes well for this selection given that Canada are averaging 16.3 fouls drawn per game at the World Cup so far.
