Domestic football returns and what a game we have in Ligue 1 on Friday night as two French giants clash horns with all the action live on BT Sport. Perfect game for a Bet Builder and my last French article was a winner in the game between Lille and PSG so lets hope for another one here. Lille are of course reigning champions but the loss of manager Christophe Galtier along with the departure of a number of key players in the summer has seen Lille fall off the wagon and they are currently sat in 12th, 18 points behind PSG and retaining the title even at this early stage looks beyond them.
Monaco are also struggling and sit down in 10th currently which will be considered disappointing after their impressive 3rd place finish last year. Both squads remain stacked with quality of players and I very much expect them to improve as the seasons wears on. Once more I have put together my three favourite bet builder tips and predictions for the game in Monaco on Friday night alongside my Cheat Sheet to assist you with your own bet builder selections. Good Luck!
Monaco v Lille Bet Builder Tips
Over 1.5 Goals
Both these sides are traditionally very good for goals and it is of no real surprise given the quality of forward player that they are blessed with. Despite their struggles in the league, they are still scoring goals and in Jonathan David (Lille) and Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco) they have without doubt two of the most prolific strikers in the division. David with 8 goals actually leads the Ligue 1 scoring charts and Ben Yedder isn’t too far behind with 6.
Over 1.5 goals have featured in 85% of the league games this season featuring both Monaco and Lille which is a pretty healthy record. Fully expect this one to follow suit and fancy it to be an entertaining game in the South of France on Friday night.
Jonathan David to have 1+ Shots on Target
I have already mentioned Jonathan David and his prolific form; the Canadian international and goals just go hand in hand at the moment. His form has seen him linked with a January move to a whole host of English clubs; Liverpool and Newcastle reportedly the closest to his signature at the moment. 8 goals in 10 starts this season see him scoring more frequently than the likes of Neymar and Mbappe which takes some doing.
His Cheat Sheet stats are unsurprisingly impressive too and given the confidence he is playing with at the moment I strongly fancy him to register a shot on target here.
Benjamin Andre to be Carded
The Cheat Sheet does a lot of the talking for this selection. You can see statistically Andre ranks higher than any other player involved on Friday night for fouls committed (2.33) and also ranks joint-highest for yellow cards with 4. He will likely partner Renato Sanches in midfield and be tasked with dealing with the supremely talented Monaco midfield duo of Aurelien Tchouameni and Youssouf Fofana. The Cheat Sheet again reveals that they are a couple of the most fouled players at Monaco and this looks like a match made in heaven for an Andre card. He is priced at an extremely reasonable 3.1 for a booking and lets just hope he can do the business!
