Saturday’s European Football Accumulator Tips
Bayern Munich v Frankfurt
Bayern Munich v Frankfurt is our first game of the day from Germany.
Bayern Munich have superb home form, winning seven of their last eight home matches. During these eight games, they have faced the likes of RB Leipzig, Arsenal and Lazio, making the run all the more impressive.
On the other hand, Frankfurt have greatly struggled to pick up points on the road in recent times; winning only one of their last seven away matches. Furthermore, Bayern Munich are unbeaten in six home games against today’s visitors, winning five and drawing the other. The away side have a huge job on their hands at the Allianz Arena this weekend, and few would expect them to take any points here.
Overall, Bayern’s home advantage has them as strong favourites to emerge victorious against Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon, but they still remain a solid option at 1.33.
RB Leipzig v Dortmund
Two sides challenging for the Champions League places in the Bundesliga go head to head at Red Bull Arena on Saturday with RB Leipzig v Borussia Dortmund.
A win for either side in the crunch clash could prove to be crucial in deciding which of the two teams finishes in that coveted fourth place. It is Leipzig who currently occupy that position and Marco Rose’s side come into this game in fine form and are unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions. They have been prolific in front of goal recently and have found the net in all but one of their last 13 Bundesliga games.
Opponents Dortmund suffered late heartbreak last time out to draw against champions Leverkusen and have lost just one of their last seven league fixtures. They too seem to have found their shooting boots lately, having netted in all but one of their last ten league games.
Recent Bundesliga meetings between these two sides have seen some goal fests with both teams scoring in four out of their last five league meetings, making both teams to score an attractive option in a game between two sides which have rarely failed to bag a goal in recent weeks.
Lazio v Hellas Verona
It’s off to Serie A next, and we’re heading to the capital for Lazio v Hellas Verona where the home side find themselves in scintillating form.
Igor Tudor’s Lazio side seem to have picked up some form at just the right time, ahead of facing Tudor’s former employers, as they look to make a late surge into the European places with just five Serie A games remaining.
Having won four of their last five league games, the side from the capital welcome midtable Hellas Verona, who are not yet safe from the despair of relegation, to the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening. Over the course of those five games, Lazio boast the best form in the whole of Serie A, picking up 12 points from a possible 15.
Saturday’s opponents on the other hand are on a mixed run, winning just one in their last five league games. Their away form has left a lot be desired both recently and as a whole this season. Marco Baroni’s side have picked up just one win in their five most recent away games and have won just two games on the road all season, suggesting this game could be a fairly comfortable three points for an in-form side like Lazio.
PSG v Le Havre
Our only Ligue 1 game of the day is PSG v Le Havre where the Parisians are on course to yet again claim the domestic title.
Due to the huge quality difference, demonstrated by PSG being top of the table and Le Havre being the in the thick of a relegation dogfight, there is only one likely outcome here, and that is a home win.
First, the home side are on an impressive unbeaten home run having now not lost in any of their last 15 domestic home games. This has been no cakewalk either, with PSG having faced Rennes, Nice, Lille, Monaco and Marseille in that period; further reinforcing the quality of the hosts.
Secondly, historical data from previous encounters suggests a PSG victory again here. Incredibly, the last time Le Havre defeated PSG away from home was all the way back in 1998.
Finally, Le Havre have really struggled in recent matches on the road. They haven’t won an away match in seven attempts and the daunting prospect of heading to Paris will likely mean another defeat is imminent.
Atletico Madrid v Athletic Club
Rounding things off in Spain, we have Atletico Madrid v Athletic Bilbao.
These two sides are battling it out for the final Champions League place in La Liga with Atleti sat three points ahead of their opponents in fifth.
It was a disappointing performance last time out for Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid side as they fell to a 2-0 away loss against Deportivo Alaves. Despite this blip, the side from the capital have generally been clinical in front of goal of late, their genuine attacking flair not something you usually associate with a Simeone side; and they have scored in four of their last five games on home soil.
Away side Athletic Club come into Saturday’s fixture on the back of three consecutive 1-1 draws in all competitions. The Basque side have scored in four of their last five games in all competitions and top scorer Gorka Guruzeta is up there in the race for the Pichichi Trophy (golden boot), having scored 14 goals this season.
Both of these sides are up there with the highest scorers in the league, with only the current top three having netted more.
