Saturday’s Spanish La Liga Accumulator Tips
Valencia will contest their first game since being affected by recent flood events. As it stands, they currently sit at the foot of the table, although they are just three points from safety with two games in hand over Getafe, who currently occupy 17th.
Betis found themselves in a notable patch of good form before the international break, managing an unbeaten streak of seven games in all competitions. Even without the likes of Isco and Giovani Lo Celso, Betis have looked a potent attacking force, scoring in each of those games. Crucially, Lo Celso seems set to return to the starting eleven here since recovering from his injury, which makes goals a target.
Each of the last 12 competitive head-to-head fixtures between Valencia and Real Betis have seen over 1.5 goals land, we think that pattern will continue here.
Atletico Madrid find themselves placed third in La Liga, just one point off local rivals Real Madrid. They boast the best defensive record in the league, conceding just seven goals in their 13 games. Prior to the international break, they were on a run of four straight victories in all competitions, notably beating PSG away in that streak.
Alaves sit just three points above the relegation zone, not helped by a dismal recent league run which has seen them record just three points from their last seven league games.
Atletico Madrid have beaten Alaves in each of the last six meetings at the Metropolitano in the Spanish top flight. Diego Simeone’s men boast an imperious home record, and are currently unbeaten this league campaign in front of a home support.
Girona continue to be plagued by injuries – manager Miguel will have to contend without Arnaut Danjuma and Ivan Martin, while other first-team players like Yangel Herrera, Viktor Tsygankov and Abel Ruiz remain doubtful.
They were extremely fortunate to win their last game against Getafe, as Girona registered just three shots in total, amounting to 0.19 xG. That game finished 1-0.
Espanyol too have been on an abysmal run, however, they have had an extended break to recover, having had their game against Valencia postponed prior to the break.
This bet will only lose if Girona win by two clear goals, which they have failed to do in each of their last five competitive meetings with Espanyol. Given the absentees they have in forward areas, goals are likely to be rare for the hosts in this match.
After a rough start to the season which saw Las Palmas fail to win their opening nine games, they have experienced a resurgence in form, catalysed by the introduction of new manager Diego Martinez. Since his arrival, Las Palmas have won three out of four league games, only losing against Atletico Madrid away.
Prior to the international break, Mallorca were on a poor run of form, failing to win each of their last three league games. In that time, they also failed to score a single goal, highlighting their struggles in the final third. Despite sitting in 9th, Mallorca have seen an average of just 1.54 goals per game this season – only Getafe have lower (1.46)
Expecting a low-scoring affair, backing double chance gets a few fair score lines on side, including the 0-0 draw, which is ideal.
Barcelona have been the side to watch in La Liga this season, as Hansi Flick has got them playing some enterprising stuff. The Catalans are averaging the most goals per game in the Spanish top flight so far, with 4.0.
That total rises to 4.2 goals per game when playing at their temporary home stadium, with over 2.5 goals landing in four out of five games.
Despite sitting much lower in the table in 11th, Celta Vigo have also been an extremely progressive side, averaging 3.23 goals per game, ranking third in the league. Over 2.5 goals has landed in five of their six away games this term.
Head-to-head matches also cleared this line last season, as Barcelona won 3-2 at home, before securing a 2-1 away victory in Vigo.
