Been a while since I produced a Bet Builder article for you guys and with Man City v Leeds live on BT Sport tonight I thought I would start things up again. City were far from their best at the weekend and only a controversial Raheem Sterling penalty saw them across the line against Wolves. Tonight they host Leeds who were superb in their 3-2 loss at Stamford Bridge at the weekend and face an even tougher task here as they travel to the Etihad.
City simply can’t afford to slip up. A relentless Liverpool side are just a point behind them in the league standings and are showing no signs of slowing up. Leeds will always make it tough though and will create chances no matter who they play as they showed against Chelsea at the weekend. Fancy this to be an entertaining game and as always below are my favourite Bet Builder tips and predictions alongside my trusty Cheat Sheet.
Manchester City v Leeds Bet Builder Tips
Over 2.5 goals
Love the look of goals in this one as is often the case with Leeds. They were back to their high-pressing, attacking selves at Stamford Bridge at the weekend and they look better for it. Form overall is decent and they will see tonight as a free-hit and will look to hit City on the break. They are poor on the road, however, having only claimed one win and kept one clean sheet in their eight road games so far, which does not bode well before a trip to the champions.
As for City well they are at full strength from an offensive point of view with Ferran Torres their only notable absentee. They face a Leeds side who are missing a couple of very important players from a defensive standpoint. Captain Liam Cooper and holding midfielder Kalvin Phillips are out and there are doubts surrounding the fitness of Robin Koch and Pascal Struijk. Goals look a shoo-in in this one.
Junior Firpo to be Carded
If there was a stand out player for a booking tonight then it would have to be Junior Firpo. The Cheat Sheet does a lot of the talking in this selection and when you consider the quality of his potential opponents his chances of a booking only further increase.
He will be up against a combination of Grealish, Sterling, Mahrez and Foden tonight who are amongst the most fouled players in the entire Premier League. Firpo already has 4 yellows to his name this season and averages 2.65 fouls per game. He looks the ideal selection for a yellow card and it is very unsurprising to see him priced amongst the favourites to pick up a card tonight.
Raphinha 1+ Shots on Target
What a player this guy is. Now, I don’t want to wind up Leeds fans reading this but I would be extremely surprised if this guy was playing his football at Elland Road next season. He has now been capped by Brazil and the quality of his football is being recognised on an international stage. He has after all scored 46.6% of all the club’s goals this season.
Leeds will play on the break and there simply aren’t many better players on the counter-attack than the Brazilian. He averages 1 shot on target per game from the 3.24 shots he attempts and I fancy him to carve out a chance or two against the high defensive line of Manchester City.
