ORAZIO is the top-rated runner in this ultra-competitive sprint handicap. The five-year-old Caravaggio gelding has mixed it in the best sprint handicaps this season, including an excellent third in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot.

A subsequent downfield run can be excused, as he was never travelling and eased. He’s been freshened up since and looks to have a superb chance of regaining the winning thread, at this easier assignment.

LENNOX is an intriguing handicap debutant, from an opening mark of 78. The three-year-old bay colt has shown plenty of promise in three of four starts, including a second at Yarmouth, where he bumped into the 93-rated Fifty Nifty.

The selection is worth an each-way chance on that form, which suggests he may have been let in lightly from his opening handicap figure.

BADRI has plenty of back class to draw upon in this fiendishly difficult handicap puzzle over the minimum trip. He is a well handicapped individual – some 12lb below his last winning mark – and arrives after a promising fourth in a stronger Ascot race.

A positive run is anticipated for his in-form trainer, who boasts a 33% strike-rate in the last fortnight (excluding yesterday’s runner).

GERMANIC is worth chancing in a first handicap for his top yard. Following a facile maiden win on the all-weather surface at Newcastle, the son of Saxon Warrior acquitted himself well, when runner-up to a previous winner at Thirsk. That run can be upgraded, as he briefly ran loose in the preliminaries, and the form has been boosted, with the third scoring twice since. First-time cheekpieces could prove to be a catalyst for improvement, too.

ARAMRAM appeals for an each-way chance in the concluding race of the Doncaster St Leger festival. He arrives in solid form, after a fine third in a Goodwood handicap at this level, under today’s rider.

If adopting similar hold-up tactics here, he is likely to be suited by the strong pace often associated in amateur jockey sprint handicaps.

Our first selection in our Doncaster Lucky 15 comes in the 14:05, where we have GOOD EARTH, who is looking for the hat-trick here today.

A seven-year-old gelding who has raced 10 times this year and has taken a while to get back to his best performances. A three-time winner last season put him on a career-high mark of 92, and struggling to produce competitive runs at this mark, he dropped significantly to a mark of 76 at Newmarket last month. His lowest mark since 2022, Good Earth took full advantage of this when stopping the rot and scoring at Newmarket before going on to land a double at Sandown with another impressive performance.

Racing off a workable mark still of 84 here today, the handicapper has given Good Earth a fighting chance, and he should be battling at the business end of today’s affair in his hat-trick bid.

Our next selection in our Doncaster Lucky 15 is TEN COMMITMENTS, who has finished inside the top four in eight of his 11 appearances.

A three-year-old gelding who is producing solid form of late and has been unlucky not to add more wins to his collection. Landing his sole win at Leicester in June, he has been racing consistently without picking up another win and has been knocking on the door searching for win number two. Recording finishes of 3, 3, 2 in his last three appearances, he has been producing solid form on a variety of ground, and it wouldn’t be a major surprise to see him go one better here today.

Racing on turf and all-weather in his 11-race career, Ten Commitments best performances have come when racing on turf, where he has landed results of 2, 2, 1, 5, 3, 2 and with just the one minor blip on his card, this progressive gelding looks a solid each-way bet in today’s affair.

Next up in our Doncaster Lucky 15, we have BREWING, who has won five of his seven racecourse appearances.

A lightly raced five-year-old gelding who has been prolific in his races so far and has proven that he races well when fresh. Racing three times in 2022, he went unbeaten in that season before returning in 2023 where he finished fourth at Lingfield. Taking another lengthy break (seven months), Brewing returned to Newcastle in November where he recorded win number four after being slowly away and ran on well inside the final furlong over today’s 6f trip.

Brewing has only been seen twice this year with both of his runs coming in January this year. Finishing sixth at Newcastle when racing keenly, he landed win number five not long after at Kempton over a further 7f trip. Returning today after an eight-month absence, he runs well when fresh and taking on his first race on turf here today, he should be battling at the business end of today’s affair in a race where his rivals aren’t showing a great deal of form of late.

Last but not least, our final runner in our Doncaster Lucky 15, we have YOUNG FIRE, who is looking for his third win in five starts.

An active nine-year-old who has been producing solid performances this season and has finally landed his breakthrough win this year. Finishing inside the top four in nine of his last 10 starts, he has been progressing well of late and is racing off a workable mark of 74 here today after his latest win. Winning at Haydock in June to stop his 18-race spell without a win, he won impressively by 2 ½ lengths before heading to York last month, where he landed a class four event on the same ground as today.

Racing just 2lb higher in today’s affair, the gelding holds solid claims considering he produced a win last year off a mark of 81 and looks to be getting back to his best of late with finishes of 2nd and 1st over today’s 1m2f trip in his last two appearances.
