FC Eindhoven v Excelsior
🏟
Monday 7th February – 7:00PM KO
FC Eindhoven face off against Excelsior on Monday night in the Eerste Divisie. FC Eindhoven are doing fairly well this season, they are the best of the rest in eighth place.
They have established a six-point gap over ninth-ranked PSV and trail third-ranked Jong Ajax by five points. In their most recent effort, Eindhoven have beaten Maastricht 1-0, which was their third win in a row. They are now undefeated in their past six.
Joey Sleegers and Jort van der Sande will both play, both of them have scored 10 goals. With winger Jasper Dahlhaus and Mattias Verreth gaining form, they definitely pose a threat to Excelsior.
Excelsior have lost it a little bit. They won the first period (over 10 games) but have struggled to 5 games without winning and lost their three most recent games.Thijs Dallinga is the league’s top scorer, with 25 goals but he has run dry – he is now scoreless for the past four games.
Eindhoven managed to beat Excelsior earlier in the season, beating them in spectacular fashion, winning 4-3.
With Excelsior failing to score in three of their last four outings, I really favour the home team for this one.FC Eindhoven’s home record has also been really good, which to me should give them the edge. They have won 8 of 12 and are looking for their third straight.

Jong Ajax v Jong PSV
🏟
Monday 7th February – 7:00PM KO
It’s the “mini derby” coming up, where the Ajax and PSV youngsters battle it out. Worth noting – there is a form of compensation where an older goalie is allowed to play in this match. It is however likely that Jay Gorter will be in goal for Jong Ajax.
I expect that the Ajax youngsters will book the win here, but I also expect it to be a competitive match up. Jong Ajax will possibly field a similar line-up to the game as in the game they have just played hosting Jong AZ.This means they will also play a few players who are near the first team, but are not regulars. Jong PSV can use a similar approach. We can expect Jay Gorter and also Mohammed Daramy in action. Naci Ünüvar is also a certainty, scoring 9 goals already this season.Mo Ihattaren has also been signed on loan from Juventus, but this match will probably come too soon.
Both sides are doing well with Jong Ajax currently in third place, booking 14 wins and three of their last four.Jong Ajax are also undefeated at home, after losing their first two home games of the season. They are 8 wins, 2 draws since.
Jong PSV may play Fodé Fofana who has scored 4 goals in 4 games, and also Ibrahim Bakayoko who is the top scorer with 12 goals. Bakayoko as well as Jenson Seelt were with the first team on Saturday but did not play. I expect them to contribute to this match.
Jong PSV have won four straight and collected a draw prior against Telstar. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side are a bit less impressive away from home though. They have lost 5 of 11 away games.
