PSV v Juventus
📅
Kick Off: Wednesday 19th February at 20:00
🏆
Competition: UEFA Champions League
📺
Watch Live: TNT Sports 3
Having suffered a 2-1 defeat in the reverse leg, PSV now host Juventus in what should be an interesting and tightly-contested affair.
Last time out a thunderous strike from McKennie put the Bianconeri ahead, before a clinical Perisic finish levelled the tie. Mbangula’s scrappy late winner was enough to award Thiago Motta’s men the advantage ahead of this clash in Eindhoven.
The winners will face either Inter Milan or Arsenal who surely represent two of the favourites to win the competition altogether.
⭐ PSV v Juventus Best Bet
Juventus’ 2-1 advantage heading into this clash allows them to adopt a more defensive approach, something they’ve executed effectively this season. The Bianconeri have shown their ability to sit deep and absorb pressure, relying on counter-attacks to create chances.
Juventus undoubtedly have the stronger starting XI, evidenced by their 2 wins over PSV this season on home soil. PSV, meanwhile, are formidable at home, remaining unbeaten in 18 matches this season, including 3 wins and a draw in the Champions League.
Juventus have an equally impressive away record, losing just once in their last 16 on the road fixtures in all competitions – they have also drawn 3 of their last 5 away matches.
Given these factors, a tightly contested draw appears the most likely outcome and is available at a healthy price of 3.60.
🟢 PSV v Juventus ABC Exclusive Boost
In 10 of Juventus’ last 12 Serie A clashes, both teams have breached their opposition at least once, with their defence having significantly weakened since the start of the season, while their attack has been bolstered by the signing of Kolo Muani.
PSV also boast a strong record of bringing this selection home, with each of their last 9 seeing both teams score. In fact, on 6 of those 9 occasions, both teams scored 2+ times – this selection has also been a winner in 7 of their 9 UCL clashes this term.
In the first match this season between Juventus and PSV, spectators were treated to a thrilling 3-1 win for Juve in a match which produced 3.96 xG. More recently, the reverse leg also saw both teams score, producing a 2-1 win which also went the way of The Bianconeri.
Across the two clashes between these sides, just a single card has been produced, which isn’t a huge surprise given both teams are typically pretty clean. PSV’s disciplined approach under Peter Bosz makes this an appealing selection. No Eredivisie side has received fewer bookings than his team, who average just 0.87 yellow cards per game in the league.
This trend extends beyond domestic competition, with PSV collecting fewer than 2 cards in each of their last 11 matches across all competitions. Their ability to control possession and dictate play often limits their need for reckless challenges.
Juventus have also picked up fewer than 3 cards in each of their last 11 games across all competitions, with many putting this down to Thiago Motta’s intensive training, increasing his players’ fitness and reducing the need for recovery runs and tackles. They’ve averaged just 1.76 cards in the league and 1.33 in the Champions League.
👕 PSV v Juventus Predicted XI
🔍 PSV v Juventus Players to Watch
⚫ Randal Kolo Muani
Kolo Muani has been a consistent pick in the fouls-drawn market, making these odds look generous given his strong start in Italy. Since his move, he has averaged 1.28 fouls won per 90 minutes, drawing at least 1 in 4 of his 5 appearances for The Bianconeri. Notably, he won 3 fouls against Inter in his most recent outing and 1 in the first leg against PSV.
In Ligue 1, he averaged 1.80 fouls drawn per 90 minutes this season, which is remarkably his lowest season average since his first full top-flight campaign in 2020/21. If Juventus do set up to play most of this game on the counter, Kolo Muani’s pace is likely to be used to devastating effect, and a likely outcome would be seeing a defender drag him down to prevent a quick move.
🔴 Ismael Saibari
Saibari looks generously priced to win at least 1 foul given his solid average of 1.37 fouls drawn per 90 minutes this season. In what is expected to be a high-intensity clash in the Netherlands, this market offers strong value.
The Moroccan international has been fouled in 8 of his last 9 appearances, with the only exception coming during a brief 30-minute cameo in the Eredivisie. In the Champions League, he has been brought down in 5 of his 6 starts, drawing 2 or more fouls in each of his last 3 outings. Adding to the appeal, he is set to face a Juventus midfield trio of Locatelli, Thuram, and McKennie, who commit 1.56, 1.01, and 1.40 fouls per 90 minutes respectively.

💻 PSV v Juventus Form and Tactics
Given the lead Juventus carry into this clash, it’s likely that this game will play out slightly differently to the first leg. For one, The Bianconeri are much more likely to sit back, allowing PSV significantly more of the ball, with Motta’s men instead relying on the counterattack.
The onus is on the Dutch outfit to attack, and with Juventus more than comfortable off the ball, PSV will have to be careful not to overcommit men forward. Formation-wise, fairly little is expected to change with both sides utilising a 4-2-3-1 system.
Juve’s focus will be on managing proceedings here given their 1 goal lead from the first leg, and impressively, the Italians have only been defeated in 1 of their last 16 away fixtures in all competitions.
