Belgium v Iran: Correct Score & Anytime Goalscorer 🇧🇪🇮🇷 @ 12.75
Belgium were disappointing in their opening game against Egypt, but I’d give quite a bit of credit to the Pharaohs, who surprised me and made life difficult for Belgium with Salah and Marmoush playing through the middle and offering a consistent threat in transition.
Egypt managed to successfully contain Jeremy Doku, which was a large reason for their success, but I’m not sure Iran will be as effective at stopping the Manchester City winger. Iran do have some notable players in their squad, but their tournament has been significantly disrupted by off-the-field issues; they’re having to travel in and out of the US on the day they play, which is far from ideal and will show in their on-field performance.
Charles De Ketelaere was pretty poor in the opener against Egypt, so I expect Romelu Lukaku to come into the starting lineup after making an impact from the bench to earn Belgium a point against Egypt. He offers a target in the box and has a pretty exceptional record for his country with 90 goals across 127 caps.
