Wrexham were humbled at home on Tuesday night as Southampton ran riot in a 1-5 victory, but they still hold hopes of finishing in the top six and extending their season into the play-offs. 

Josh Windass has been a reliable goalscorer in the second tier for the last couple of years, and with five games left to go he has matched his tally of 13 goals and 6 assists achieved with Sheffield Wednesday last season. Windass has scored in Wrexham’s last three games, so his confidence should be high.

They’re hosted by a Birmingham side who many expected to be up at the business end of the table with Wrexham given how they dominated League One last season, but they have rather quietly slid to 16th place after collecting just 4 points from the last 32 available. They’ve been strong at home but with little motivation heading into this one I’d like to be with a Wrexham player.

Dom Hyam plays centrally in Wrexham’s back three, which is usually the position where the fewest number of fouls occur. However, Hyam has been finding himself on the receiving end of quite a bit of foul play from physical strikers of late.

Birmingham don't quite offer that threat, but they do have the Duracell Bunny that is Jay Stansfield. His constant pressing and regular fouling makes this price on Hyam look attractive.

Hyam has been fouled 1.15 times per 90 over Wrexham's last 30 matches, but he has been fouled twice or more three times in his last five. Combining this with Stansfield, who is fouling at 1.75 per 90 over Birmingham's last 30 games, but with recent form of 3,4, and 3 fouls in his last three, and August Priske, who fouled twice in his last start, there looks to be some juice here.

From Laird's perspective now, he has returned from injury recently, but found his way back into the first XI quickly and is contributing from an attacking perspective.

He has hit two shots in three of his last five matches, and therefore is now averaging 1.65 shots per 90 on this season's data, so this price looks a bit big.

Especially so when we consider Birmingham’s shot volume at home. They average 17.4 shots at home per match, which is a whole eight more than their away average. Given that Laird is one of their attacking weapons of recent weeks, this suggests that he should be in for two or more shots on a regular basis, especially at St. Andrew’s.
