Spain v Saudi Arabia: Correct Score & Anytime Goalscorer 🇪🇸🇸🇦 @ 12.30

Spain were a bit flat in their opener against Cape Verde but that performance alone doesn’t change my opinion of this Spanish side. They were without their two key threats in Williams and Yamal; it’s no exaggeration to suggest that Spain need these two to play in the way Luis de la Fuente wants as without them, Spain lack cutting edge against sides that will sit deep.

Saudi Arabia held Uruguay in their opener but didn’t pose much of a threat to suggest they’ll cause Spain problems. They only had 33% of the ball against Bielsa’s side and generated an xG of 0.66 from seven shots. I think they’ll be outclassed and I’d be very surprised if they manage to get on the scoresheet. Spain generated an xG of 2.10 in their opener; if it wasn’t for an inspired performance by the Cape Verde goalkeeper, they would have won comfortably.

Yamal has to start now, he didn’t quite get enough time to impact the game when he came on against Cape Verde but he’s easily Spain’s biggest attacking threat and you could see every Spain player actively look to find him when he entered the field last time out. Yamal has scored six goals across 26 caps for Spain and scored 24 goals for Barcelona during the 25/26 campaign.
