Garnacho looked bright in his 11 minute cameo against Brentford which was his first few minutes in a Chelsea shirt. He’s expected to start here ahead of Jamie Gittens who is a player that looks pretty raw at the moment and could do with some development, he’s not the only one in the Chelsea squad.

Garnacho’s shot numbers have been consistently high since he broke into the first team squad at Manchester United. His finishing is actually pretty erratic but that doesn’t stop him from taking aim at goal. Garnacho had 84 shots across his 23 starts in the Premier League last season (3.44 per 90) - Garnacho had two or more shots in 18 of these starts (78%).

I’d expect him to fancy his chance of causing Bayern problems here. Bayern’s backline is far from secure and only kept two clean sheets across their eight matches in the league phase last season. Garnacho’s direct opponent is likely to be Konrad Laimer who has been filling in at right back for Bayern for quite some time, though he still doesn’t look the most comfortable in 1v1 situations. I think Garnacho will be able to get the better of him on a few occasions.
