📂 Bournemouth v Brentford Cheat Sheet
📈 Bournemouth v Brentford Form & Stats
Evanilson’s header in the 63rd minute earned the Cherries a point against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, which extended Bournemouth's impressive run. The Cherries were the dominant side in terms of possession, with 62%, which translated to 21 shots worth 1.71 xG. Even though Sunderland managed just eight shots, they had some high-quality chances, and a draw was probably a fair result in the end.
Iraola’s men will remain on the south coast for this clash, and they have generally performed better at the Vitality Stadium this season. Bournemouth have won six, drawn six, and lost just two of their Premier League matches at home this campaign.
Brentford were just about able to hold onto the three points at the weekend, resisting late pressure from Burnley. After going 3-0 up at Turf Moor in the first half, it was looking like the Bees were going to run riot. However, Burnley fought back to level the scores.
There were more twists to come - Zian Flemming had a goal ruled out, before Mikkel Damsgaard put Brentford back in front, and Ashley Barnes then had a 103rd-minute equaliser chalked off by VAR for a handball.
It was a stressful game for the Cherries, but they prevailed and are now seventh in the league standings.
📔 Bournemouth v Brentford Formation & Team News
Kevin Schade made his first start for Bournemouth since returning from suspension at the weekend, and he marked it with a goal. The German international should start on the left wing again here, with Dango Ouattara on the opposite flank.
Matias Jensen featured in a deeper role alongside Yehor Yarmolyuk, allowing Damsgaard to return to an advanced midfield position. He bagged himself a brace, including the late winner, while also providing an assist against Burnley. Aaron Hickey remains out, so Rico Henry looks set to continue at left back.
Marcus Tavernier returned to the starting eleven after recovering from injury, and David Brooks started in place of Amine Adli on the left at the weekend. Adli could return here, while Evanilson looks set to miss out after being replaced late on against Sunderland. Eli Junior Kroupi will hope to lead the line again, but Enes Unal is another option if Iraola opts for some rotation.
