Brentford were pegged back by an 82nd-minute header from Dominic Calvert-Lewin on their last home outing (1-1 v Leeds), ending a three-game win streak. The Gtech Community Stadium has been a difficult away day this season, as Brentford boast the record of five wins, three draws and one loss across their nine home matches in all competitions. Considering that one defeat came against Man City, it just goes to show how effective Keith Andrews’ men have been at picking up points in West London. 

By contrast, Bournemouth have accrued just four points from their last eight league matches, including a draw against an out-of-sorts Burnley last time out. In fact, the Clarets had lost seven straight matches before heading to the Vitality Stadium last weekend. That turgid run of form has seen Bournemouth slump to 14th in the standings, and with speculation of Antoine Semenyo departing in the summer, there isn’t much hope for their situation to improve.

The Cherries have really let themselves down defensively, and their lack of cohesion at the back has been their downfall. Bournemouth have shipped 23 goals from their eight Premier League away games this season - only Burnley have conceded more. That has contributed to a disappointing record of four losses, three draws, and just the one win. 

It was an eight-goal thriller on their last away outing, as it finished 4-4 at Old Trafford. Chances were freely available at both ends, which has been a theme for Bournemouth this season. Both teams have scored in six of their eight away games in the league, with the Cherries conceding multiple goals in seven of those as well. 

It has been a similar story for Brentford at home - over 1.5 goals has landed in six of their eight matches at the Gtech, with both teams scoring in four successive games.

Keane Lewis-Potter is averaging just 1.2 shots per 90 across all competitions this season, which in itself is nothing to write home about, but it is worth noting how he predominantly featured at full back to start the season. In recent games, he has returned to a more natural position on the wing, where he has a lot more attacking freedom. He filled in for the suspended Kevin Schade against Leeds, during which he had one shot which hit the target. Lewis-Potter’s most notable contribution came against Wolves last time out, as his brace at Molineux secured all three points for the Bees. 

The 24-year-old had three shots in that game, all of which hit the target, so he should come into this clash full of confidence. He has featured on the wing in each of his last three starts for Brentford, during which he has landed this bet in all of those matches, and has scored three goals.

He might be strongly linked with a move away from the South Coast, but that hasn’t led to a drop-off in intensity for Semenyo, who has continued to operate at a high level. He has scored in back-to-back games coming into this clash, taking his goalscoring tally to eight for the season. Even on the defensive front, Semenyo has been a regular contributor who likes to get stuck in to duels. 

In fact, from his 16 Premier League starts this season, the Ghana international has racked up 31 fouls - the second-most fouls of any Premier League player this season. Semenyo is averaging 1.88 fouls per 90 across all competitions this campaign, rising to 2.75 when playing away, landing this bet in seven of his eight matches overall. He committed two fouls against Man United last time out, and three infringements prior to that, picking up a card in both matches.
