Everton’s problem at right back remains unsolved, with no new incomings so far, meaning Merlin Rohl had to fill in last weekend. The German international played in that position during pre-season, and he completed the full 90 against Crystal Palace last time out. 

It’s an unfamiliar position for him, as Rohl played in midfield for the previous campaign. His average of 2.57 fouls per 90 was amongst the highest in the Everton squad - he landed this selection in six of his seven starts overall. 

Bournemouth are a side who like to play direct, attacking football, so Rohl should be called into defensive action much more often than he did against Palace. Playing out of position, the Cherries might look to target him here.

Jeremy Jacquet was given the nod to start alongside Virgil Van Dijk last weekend, and the 21-year-old didn’t look out of his depth. He was replaced after 70 minutes, which shows how Andoni Iraola isn’t fully set on his defensive partnership, but Jacquet will hope to start against Forest here. 

The Frenchman was fouled once at St James’ Park, and he had an average of 0.92 fouls drawn per 90 playing at the back for Rennes last season. Jacquet isn’t shy to get on the ball, and he can be adept at drawing contact. Considering he will be up against Igor Jesus, who averaged 1.63 fouls per 90 in the league last season, this is a great matchup.

Matt Crooks played a key role in getting Hull promoted to the Premier League, and Sergej Jakirovic will be relying on him in midfield again this campaign. The 32-year-old put in a spirited performance against Man United in gameweek one - he contributed four tackles, won five of his ten duels, and committed two fouls. Crooks was booked in the second half for a cynical foul which the referee played advantage on, so it could easily have been three fouls for him. 

Last season, Crooks had an average of 2.13 fouls per 90 for Hull, which was the highest figure in the squad. He recorded two fouls against Coventry at the MKM Stadium, and four fouls in the reverse, where he was shown a yellow card.

After arriving from Benfica, Amar Dedic was thrust straight into the starting lineup against Liverpool, but the 24-year-old did well considering the circumstances. With that being said, he did still rack up three fouls, and it may take him some time to get used to the pace of the Premier League. With Tino Livramento out, Dedic looks set to retain his starting spot at right back this weekend, which should put him up against Mathys Tel. 

The Tottenham winger had an average of 1.54 fouls drawn per 90 in the Premier League last season, rising to 1.71 when playing at home. He always looks to try and beat his marker when isolated one-on-one, which bodes well for this selection.

There was genuine optimism surrounding Spurs after their summer transfer window, but Roberto De Zerbi’s men were thrashed 3-0 by Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in gameweek one.

Still, the Italian manager is unlikely to deviate from his tactics - he likes his side to press high, with their centre backs squeezing forward. Marcos Senesi was usually the one to step out of the back line against the Bees, and he finished that match with two fouls. He is the more aggressive player in that centre back partnership with Jan Paul Van Hecke, which makes his foul prices appealing here. 

Senesi had an average of 0.94 fouls per 90 for Bournemouth last season, but that figure is expected to rise this campaign under De Zerbi.

David Moyes would’ve been happy with how his side started their Premier League campaign, as they secured a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace. It wasn’t the most convincing performance from the Toffees, but they managed to keep a clean sheet, and take their chances when they came. Iliman Ndiaye played a big role going forward, as he provided the assist for Therino Barry to score the second goal. 

The Senegalese international was unfortunate not to find the back of the net himself in the end - he had two shots which both hit the target. That has been a familiar theme for Ndiaye - he tends to be efficient with his shots, and 52% of his efforts last season in the league hit the target. Ndiaye will also be the designated penalty taker for Everton, which is a bonus for this selection.

Liverpool looked vulnerable on the break against Newcastle, a side who were ripped apart over the summer, coming into the new season with plenty of new personnel and a new manager. It wasn’t the best start for the Reds, and Forest will hope to capitalise on that. 

Forest have an impressive record at Anfield, having won on their last two visits to Merseyside, which will give them confidence. Morgan Gibbs-White in particular played a key role in this fixture last season. He had two shots, and one found the back of the net. The Forest skipper seems to have a greater responsibility in the final third for Forest under Oliver Glasner, which makes his shot prices stand out again. He had three shots against Leeds last time out.

Coventry weren’t as successful as Hull in their opening Premier League match, but it was always going to be a tough ask for them to take anything from the Emirates against the reigning Premier League champions. Chances were few and far between for Frank Lampard’s men, and they managed just four shots in total. Loum Tchaouna accounted for exactly half of those - he recorded two shots, both from outside the box, and one went narrowly over the bar. 

The Frenchman made his debut for Coventry after arriving from Burnley, and he looked sharp. Tchaouna showed glimpses of his potential for the Clarets last season, and he looks set for a massive role on the right wing for Coventry this season. He should find chances against Hull here, especially in Coventry’s first home game of the season.

Hull pulled off one of the biggest upsets in gameweek one, as they beat Man United 2-0 at the MKM Stadium. It was an ideal result on their return to the top flight, and the Tigers will be hoping to build on that result here. On paper, it looks like an easier matchup against Coventry City, who were promoted from the Championship alongside Hull. 

Mohamed Belloumi put in an impressive display against Man United, looking sharp on the right wing. Hull had to dig in and sit deep at times last weekend, managing just 28% possession and eight shots, but Belloumi still managed to land this selection with exactly two efforts. The Algerian winger is one of the more technical players in Hull’s squad, and he fancies himself from distance. If Hull get a free-kick in a dangerous position, Belloumi will also be in contention to take it.

After arriving from Brentford last season, Yoane Wissa had a difficult debut campaign at St James’ Park due to injury. He started just four Premier League games, and managed one goal. However, the DR Congo international impressed at the World Cup, scoring three times in four matches, and he looked incredibly sharp against Liverpool last weekend. 

Wissa featured in an advanced midfield position, and he was all over the park. The 29-year-old provided the assist for Joe Willock, and he was given the man of the match award at full time. Wissa had four shots against Liverpool, and he was denied by an excellent save from Allison in the second-half. The former Brentford man bagged 19 goals in the 24/25 season, so this price looks good value.
