Over 2.5 Bournemouth Corners

Bournemouth are averaging 6.14 corners per game across their 36 games in the Premier League this season, this average stays pretty consistent when looking at their 18 away games this campaign with the average across those fixtures sitting at 6.00 corners per game.

Bournemouth racked up three corners in the initial league meeting between the sides in which they ran out 2-1 winners. The Cherries only fell one short of this line in the FA Cup meeting between the sides and although City may reduce Bournemouth’s corner average with their tendency to control the ball, Bournemouth should still find avenues to win corners from winning possession in dangerous areas.

Bournemouth have had 3+ corners in each of their last five Premier League matches, including a recent trip to the Emirates in which they scored from one of those set piece situations. Bournemouth have shown a tendency to take the game to their opponents instead of sitting back and looking to hit teams on the break, they're not your typical mid table side heading to the Etihad.

Dean Huijsen to Commit 1+ Fouls

Huijsen is a very aggressive centre back, he’s averaging 1.16 fouls committed per 90 in the Premier League this season and plays for an equally aggressive Bournemouth side that are averaging 13.7 fouls committed per game in the Premier League this season - a total higher than any other side in the division.

He didn’t play in the initial league meeting between the sides but his replacement, in Marcos Senesi, did commit a foul, one of 11 that Bournemouth ended up giving away on that occasion, a total just two fouls short of their average across the season as a whole, showing how their foul numbers can stay high even against a side that are very good at keeping the opposition at arm's length.

He’ll be up against Erling Haaland who doesn’t have the most standout fouls won record (0.42 per 90), but Huijsen’s tendency to step out of the backline and into central areas should also pit him up against Omar Marmoush who has shown more promise when it comes to winning fouls, being hauled down 17 times across his 14 Premier League appearances this season (1.51 per 90) since joining from Frankfurt in January.

Josko Gvardiol to be Fouled 1+ Times

Gvardiol has been hauled down in each of the two meetings between the sides this season. He’s won 24 fouls across his 35 Premier League appearances this season (0.70 per 90) but this average should be set to increase here against a side that commit plenty of fouls.

No side is committing more fouls per game this season than Bournemouth (13.7). Gvardiol has been playing as a left centre back in recent weeks which means he could be up against the lively Evanilson, who is averaging 1.46 fouls committed per 90 in the Premier League this season and committed a foul in Bournemouth’s 2-1 win over Manchester City earlier in the campaign.

Erling Haaland to Score Anytime

It’s been a quiet reintroduction to the Manchester City side for Erling Haaland since returning from injury, but City’s top goalscorer this season is rarely kept in the shadows for long. He only had one shot against Southampton in Manchester City’s most recent Premier League outing, which suggests that it’s more a problem of City finding Haaland in dangerous situations than it is about the Norwegian being clinical.

The most surprising part of Manchester City’s 1-0 defeat to Palace in the FA Cup final was Erling Haaland handing over a chance from the penalty spot to Omar Marmoush. Haaland has been City’s main penalty taker all season so this was definitely surprising to see and sums up City’s campaign on the whole - with Marmoush seeing his penalty saved.

Haaland scored against Bournemouth in the most recent meeting between the sides in the FA Cup. Haaland has scored 21 goals across his 29 Premier League appearances this season and will be eager to add to this record after a few stale performances, knowing that his side need all three points here in the race to finish in a Champions League spot next season.

Lewis Cook to be Shown a Card

Cook has picked up eight yellow cards across his 35 Premier League appearances this term, only Ryan Christie, Dean Huijsen and Antonie Semenyo have picked up more cautions than Cook for Bournemouth this season (all on nine).

Cook has collected three yellow cards across his last 10 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries, and directly feeds into Bournemouth’s overall approach off the ball which is to be as aggressive as possible to ensure that the opposition don’t get a second on the ball.

Cook was shown a yellow card in their last game v City, in the FA Cup. He plays for a Bournemouth side that have collected 94 yellow cards in the Premier League this season (2.61 per game), only Chelsea have collected more yellow cards than Bournemouth in the English top-flight this term (97).

Both Teams to Score

BTTS has landed in both head to head meetings between the sides this season. Bournemouth have seen BTTS in two of their last three Premier League games which sets this encounter up nicely for both teams to have chances to find the back of the net.

City have been vulnerable at the back all season, conceding 22 goals across their 18 games at the Etihad this campaign (1.2 per game) - for context, City only conceded 16 goals across their 19 games at home in the Premier League last season so there has been an increase in defensive vulnerability which is evident through these numbers.

Bournemouth have scored 34 goals across their 18 away games in the Premier League this season (1.88 per game). The Cherries boast one of the best away records in the division with only Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool amassing more points on the road than Andoni Iraola’s side.
