Spain have been incredible at the World Cup and are yet to concede a goal across their five matches which is an almost unbelievable run, especially when factoring in that they’ve only conceded a total xG of 1.50 across these matches.

This is by far the most impressive defensive record at the World Cup and I think it’ll be hard for Belgium to make this the end to end game they would want. Rudi Garcia’s side have only kept one clean sheet at the World Cup so far and their best matches under his tenure more widely have tended to be games where Belgium can make the fixture a bit of a basketball game.

Spain won’t allow them to do that and I think they control the game and come away with a comfortable victory. They eased past Austria in the Round of 32 before striking in the final moments to claim a 1-0 win over Portugal last time out.

Mikel Oyarzabal is the perfect striker for this Spain side and has netted four goals across his five starts at the World Cup. He’s Spain’s top scorer and arguably the best finisher in the squad despite not being a traditional number nine. His movement is really clever and allows him to get in positions where the likes of Yamal and Baena can pick him out.
