France were dominated by Spain in the semi-final, and Les Bleus went out with a whimper. Kylian Mbappe was kept quiet in that game, with just three shots of which none hit the target, but the Real Madrid man had been devastating in the World Cup up until that point.

With eight goals in six appearances, he was level with Lionel Messi at the top of the scoring charts, and he will have a chance here to secure the Golden Boot for the second successive World Cup tournament. 

Didier Deschamps could start his talisman again here, despite this being pretty much a dead rubber. Mbappe played the full 90 against Norway in France’s final group stage game, despite Les Bleus already being through. 

England looked flat against Argentina last time out, and were dealt two major injury blows as Declan Rice and Reece James went off. Thomas Tuchel is likely to start some of his fringe players here, which means Mbappe has an excellent opportunity to add to his scoring tally.
