Below is a breakdown of the horses who have faired well at the Cheltenham Festival in recent years, and how their past form may lead to them being strong contenders for their respective races.

Mares Hurdle (Tuesday 11th March – 15:20)
🏇 Lossiemouth
📈 Odds: 1.67
LOSSIEMOUTH has won all three of her races at Cheltenham, including two wins at the Festival. It’s tough to look past her here, despite arriving after a fall at Leopardstown. She won this race last year and her class and stamina make it difficult to see any of her rivals finishing in front of her here.
She is also unbeaten across her career over this 2m4f trip, it’s her prime distance and she should make it three Festival wins here.
Champion Hurdle (Tuesday 11th March – 16:00)
🏇 Constitution Hill
📈 Odds: 1.62
CONSTITUTION HILL has a perfect record at Cheltenham too, again boasting three wins from three appearances and by a combined distance of a huge 34 lengths.
He was mightily impressive in winning his much anticipated comeback at Kempton in December, beating the aforementioned Lossiemouth who initially was set to run here but opted for the weaker Mares Hurdle race instead. Constitution Hill is yet to taste defeat in 10 runs under rules and looks set to make that 11 here.
Cross Country Chase (Wednesday 12th March – 15:20)
🏇 Stumptown
📈 Odds: 3.50
STUMPTOWN is another who always runs well around Prestbury Park. From five Cheltenham runs, his form figures read: 1, 3, PU, 1, 2. Often running around here in races with plenty of runners, he has proven his stamina and ability to manoeuvre the Cheltenham hill.
His fine last time out win improved his strike-rate in cross-country chases to a notable 3-4. First-time blinkers brought about plenty of improvement when he scored at this venue last year, and he could easily repeat the trick in first-time cheekpieces on Wednesday.
Cross Country Chase (Wednesday 12th March – 15:20)
🏇 Latenightpass
📈 Odds: 11.0
LATENIGHTPASS is another horse considering in Wednesday’s Cross Country Chase. In five career runs at Cheltenham, he holds impressive form figures of: 3, 1, 2, 4, 1.
He’s already been backed in over the last week or so and could be even shorter closer to the off. He was beaten by the aforementioned Stumptown in his last run at Cheltenham but has excellent form here and could be a strong each-way play.
Champion Chase (Wednesday 12th March – 16:00)
🏇 Libberty Hunter
📈 Odds: 34.0
While LIBBERTY HUNTER is the outsider of the field for the Champion Chase at 33/1, her Cheltenham form makes her a very attractive each-way pick.
She’s won two of her three races at Cheltenham, finishing 2nd in her other appearances – all of these runs have been within the last 14 months. She’ll have a job to get close to the market leader Jonbon, but if running to her best she has a chance of sneaking into the placings at a huge price.
Gold Cup (Friday 14th March – 16:00)
🏇 Galopin Des Champs
📈 Odds: 1.53
GALOPIN DES CHAMPS needs little introduction. He’s a 10-time Grade One winner and has won on three of his four appearances at the Festival (falling on the other occasion). He is seeking an almighty 3rd successive win in this race and looks unstoppable in truth.
He appears to have fairly little to beat here, with Banbridge and Inothewayurthinkin the next in the market, but if the Mullins star runs to his best, he could make a mockery of this field.
