Brahim Diaz is arguably the most talented player in this Morocco side and will be a useful outlet for his nation having already registered four assists across his five matches at the World Cup.
He’ll line up on the right wing with Hakimi behind him, so we can expect most of Morocco’s attacking traffic to come down his side of the pitch. It’s also where France are weakest with Deschamps rotating between Theo Hernandez and Lucas Digne at left back.
Diaz has won eight fouls across his five starts at the World Cup (1.86 per 90) and has been fouled twice or more in three of these matches. He’s as short as 1.16 to be fouled once here, I don’t think the gap to winning a second foul is as big as the odds are suggesting, especially given his price with other leading bookmakers.
Diaz won 37 fouls across 13 starts for Real Madrid during the 25/26 LaLiga campaign (2.66 per 90). He also averaged 3.05 fouls won per 90 across seven appearances at AFCON earlier this year as well as maintaining an average of 2.87 fouls won per 90 during qualifying, so this is clearly a consistent part of his game.
Diaz is as short as 1.3 with other major bookmakers to be fouled at least twice here, the 1.83 we’re getting is a nice price with William Hill.
