A Stockholm derby between two mid-table teams, both looking to solidify a spot in the top half of the table. Only three points separate the two and the winner here will have the upper hand going into the second half of the season.

Brommapojkarna’s return to the top tier has been fruitful and exciting, enjoying a beautiful start to the campaign. They collected six victories in their first 11 outings and looked solid at both ends of the pitch. The last few matches they have been more exposed, shipping 10 goals in the last four, not picking up a single point in the process.

Their overall play has remained strong, racking up plenty of chances, but defensive frailties have come to the fore. In all of these four matches their opponents have outscored their xG, with the previously so impressive young goalkeeper Sidklev making a few mistakes. At the other end, they have not been as clinical as they would have liked, creating plenty of chances but not putting them away.

Hammarby have only lost one of their last five matches, against top-of-the-table Elfsborg, and are steadily improving game by game. Their offensive threat increases with every match, and especially Jusef Erabi is finding his young feet as a central striker. He now has three in his last four in Hammarby colours and looks an increasingly exciting prospect. Old fox Besara, meanwhile, keeps producing from midfield, and Fredrik Hammar has impressed beside him. The defence has improved, although they do still tend to concede in most matches, as evidenced by only three clean sheets all season.

Last time these two met, in mid-June, it was a lively encounter ending in a 2-1 win for Hammarby. We can expect a similar spectacle here.
