Ivan Perisic is such an important player to Croatia, even at the age of 37, and usually comes good in the big moments for his nation.

Croatia pretty much have to win here to be in with a real chance of qualifying as one of the best third placed sides, a point would probably be enough but it’s not guaranteed - and I imagine Croatia will want to avoid being the third placed side from this group as it sets up a tricky run through the knockout stages.

Perisic hasn’t had a shot at the World Cup yet, but was notably playing in a more advanced role last time out against Panama and I think we’ll see him match closer to his shot output during qualifying in a must win game for Croatia.

Ghana conceded 19 shots against England and 11 shots against Panama, so they are vulnerable to a high shot count even if they have shown a decent defensive level so far - keeping two clean sheets across their matches so far.

Perisic took 19 shots across six starts during qualifying (3.08 per 90), scoring four goals in the process. He’ll be on free kicks for Croatia, and possibly penalties too, which can offer the veteran another route to goal. Perisic also managed 54 shots across 27 starts for PSV during the 25/26 campaign (2.19 per 90), so he’s shown a consistent shot record for club and country over the last year.

This price is probably this generous due to Perisic not getting a shot away so far, but I’m willing to take on that record given that Croatia must win this game and Perisic’s shot record over a larger sample size.

There’s really good value here when backing this Gem on Bet365, the exact same bet is priced as short as 1.17 with other leading bookmakers.
