Rangers and Hearts will square off at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon. Despite their contrasting starts to the season, Rangers are short-priced 1.66 favourites, with Hearts big outsiders at 4.50.

Hearts Double Chance @ 1.83

Given what we have seen from these two teams this season, I think Hearts warrant support to avoid defeat at Ibrox on Saturday. Derek McInnes only took over in the summer, but the former Aberdeen and Kilmarnock boss is already looking like a shrewd appointment.

Hearts have won three of their opening four league games of the season, not to mention they staged a stunning comeback to claim a 3-3 draw at home to Motherwell.

In contrast, Rangers have shown little signs of progress under Russel Martin to date, and I’m not convinced the international break will bring about an upturn in performances. The atmosphere at Ibrox could turn toxic pretty quickly on Saturday, and in-form Hearts are more than capable of taking advantage.

Claudio Braga to Score Anytime @ 2.90

I think Claudio Braga offers excellent value in the anytime goalscorer market at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon. The Portuguese forward has made an instant impact since joining Hearts earlier this summer. Braga has already bagged nine goals across his first six appearances for the capital club. What's more, the 25-year-old has struck three times across his last two outings in the Scottish top-flight.

Given how ropey Rangers have looked at the back this season, Braga looks well placed to get himself on the scoresheet here. The safety net of SBK’s Fresh Legs feature is an added incentive with this particular selection.

🔵 Rocky Start For Rangers

After kicking off their campaign with four straight draws, Rangers have made their worst start to a league season in 42 years. Such a poor start to the campaign, coupled with a 9-1 aggregate defeat to Club Brugge in the play-off round of Champions League qualifiers, means new manager Russell Martin is already under mounting pressure.

While a 0-0 draw with Celtic before the international break has done enough to keep the wolves at bay for now, there were very few positives for Rangers to take away from that performance, other than avoiding defeat and keeping a clean sheet. Rangers could only muster up four shots against Celtic, with none of those efforts hitting the target.

🔴 Hearts Flying High

It’s no surprise to see Hearts heading in the right direction under Derek McInnes. Having taken 10 points from a possible 12, the Jam Tarts are currently keeping pace with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings.

With Rangers struggling for form and looking bereft of confidence right now, high-flying Hearts will smell blood here and be hoping they can pile more misery on Russell Martin and Co.

Hearts will arrive at Ibrox having scored a league-high 10 goals in this season’s Scottish Premiership, striking at least twice in each of their four top-flight outings this term to date.

📊 Rangers v Hearts H2H

With Hearts failing to finish inside the top-six of last season’s Scottish Premiership table, it meant that the two teams met just three times in the top-flight last term.

The pair played out a goalless draw at Tynecastle on the opening day of last season before Rangers recorded 1-0 and 3-1 victories in the two fixtures that followed.

It is worth noting though that both teams are now under new management, not to mention there was a huge turnover of players at both clubs during the summer transfer market. Therefore, it’s difficult to read too much into the recent head-to-head record.
