Rangers and Hearts play out a top of the table clash on Sunday afternoon. Despite their league positions, Rangers are 2.08 favourites, with Hearts outsiders at 3.85. The Jambos would pull eight points clear of the Gers with a win.

📈 Rangers v Hearts Form & Stats
Rangers sit 5 points adrift of Hearts after conceding a late goal in a 1-1 draw at Motherwell on Wednesday night. That means Rangers have dropped points in 2 of their last 3 league matches, so they can ill afford another stumble when Hearts visit Ibrox this weekend.
Rangers will, however, draw confidence from returning to their own patch on Sunday, where they have won 8 of their 9 Scottish Premiership matches under Danny Rohl, including each of their previous 6.
Despite their struggles this season, Rangers boast one of the division’s best defensive records, conceding just 19 goals across their 26 matches to date - a tally bettered only by Motherwell (18). Much of that defensive solidity comes from their form at home, with the Light Blues keeping clean sheets in 4 of their last 6 victories at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
After falling to a 1-0 defeat at St Mirren in their last away game, Hearts bounced back at the first attempt by edging out rivals Hibernian 1-0 with a late winner on Tuesday. That triumph, combined with results elsewhere, means Derek McInnes’ men will start the weekend at the summit, 5 points clear of second-placed Rangers.
Despite the aforementioned 1-0 loss at St Mirren, Hearts still boast the strongest away record in the Scottish Premiership this season, having collected 26 points from 13 matches on the road. Notably, one of those victories came at Ibrox earlier in the campaign, while they also toppled Rangers in Edinburgh towards the tail end of 2025.
Hearts have impressively kept a clean sheet in 12 of their 17 Scottish Premiership wins this season.
5 of Hearts' last 6 Scottish Premiership fixtures have featured at least one red card.
📔 Rangers v Hearts Formation & Team News
Rangers boss Danny Rohl is expected to stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation he has favoured in recent months. The Gers boss will, however, be considering tweaks to his starting XI following the disappointment of Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw at Motherwell.
The good news for Rohl is that Rangers came through Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw without picking up any new injuries. Bailey Rice, Connor Barron, Derek Cornelius and Max Aarons remain the only names on the absentee list ahead of Sunday’s clash with Hearts.
Derek McInnes is expected to stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation that he has made use of for most of the campaign, though it is likely to shift into a 4-5-1 system when his side are out of possession.
Calem Nieuwenhof, Cammy Devlin, Christian Borchgrevink, Finlay Pollock, Lawrence Shankland and Stephen Kingsley all missed out in midweek through injury and are not expected to return this weekend.
Tomas Magnusson is pushing for a recall to the starting XI after coming off the bench to score the winner against Hibs on Tuesday night, while Craig Halkett will almost certainly be reinstated after serving a suspension.
