📈 Hibernian v Hearts Form & Tactics
Hibernian saw their six-match unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership come to an end with a 2-0 defeat away at Aberdeen last time out. Despite that setback, David Gray’s side remain firmly in contention for European qualification, sitting just three points behind 4th-placed Motherwell.
Hibs have been difficult to beat at home this season, losing only two of their 16 Scottish Premiership matches in front of their own fans. The Hibees have also been one of the draw specialists in the Scottish top-flight this term, with 12 of their 33 matches ending all square, including three of their previous five.
Hibernian boss Gray is likely to line his side up in his favoured 3-4-1-2 formation for Sunday’s all-Edinburgh showdown. The hosts will be without Grant Hanley, who is suspended after his red card against Aberdeen last time out, while Josh Mulligan, Munashe Garananga, and Rudi Molotnikov are all sidelined through injury.
Hearts survived a scare in their last Scottish Premiership outing, coming from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Motherwell. That victory ensured Derek McInnes’s men remained top of the table, with the title still firmly in their own hands heading into the final five matchdays.
If Hearts are to go on and complete a famous Scottish Premiership title triumph, they will need to address their shaky away form in recent months. The Jam Tarts have lost three of their last four top-flight road trips, while the other ended in a 2-2 draw against bottom club Livingston.
The visitors are dealing with a lengthy absentee list, with Ageu, Calem Nieuwenhof, Christian Borchgrevink, Craig Gordon, Finlay Pollock, Oisin McEntee, and Tomas Magnusson all ruled out through injury. Harry Milne remains a doubt; however, Mark Leonard is back in contention after serving a suspension.
