Kevin De Bruyne to Score Anytime

Liechtenstein are quoted as high as 50/1 in some places to come away with a win here which, as you’d expect, has sucked a lot of the value out backing Belgium in any capacity.

Even the handicap markets aren’t that appealing so I’ve landed on two goalscorers in what could be a real rout for Belgium following their 4-3 win over Wales in their most recent qualifier.

De Bruyne had five shots in that game with one of these efforts finding the back of the net. He’s still got real quality, especially against opposition of this level, and has already scored his first goal for Napoli which gives him some momentum ahead of this qualifier.

De Bruyne also created four chances in that victory over Wales so he is an integral part of Belgium’s squad, even at the age of 34. De Bruyne has netted 31 goals across his 111 caps for Belgium.

Jeremy Doku to Score Anytime

Jeremy Doku also found the back of the net in Belgium’s 4-3 win over Wales last time out and will be eager to cement his place in the starting lineup with the talented Malick Fofana also called up to Belgium’s squad this time around.

Doku’s main strength is his creative ability with the winger registering nine assists across his 33 caps for Belgium but he has continually been urged to score more goals by both Pep Guardiola and Rudi Garcia.

He should get more opportunities than usual here against a lowly ranked Liechtenstein side that could be on the end of a battering from Belgium on Thursday evening.

🔵 Impossible assignment for Liechtenstein

This was always going to be an impossible assignment for Liechtenstein, they’ve lost all three of their games in Group J so far against North Macedonia, Kazakhstan and Wales without even managing to score a goal - conceding eight across these games.

The assignments do get any easier with Belgium making the trip to Vaduz. Liechtenstein’s last victory came against Hong Kong in a friendly back in October 2024, for their last competitive triumph you have to go all the way back to 2020 when they overcame San Marino in the Nations League.

🔴 Belgium going through changes, but still clear favourites

Belgium are in a real moment of transition and it wouldn’t surprise me if they struggled to top this group with the early stages proving quite competitive (aside from Liechtenstein).

Belgium drew their opening game of qualifying against North Macedonia before having to battle to the very end against Wales, edging the contest as 4-3 winners. Rudi Garcia is dealing with a side that has very recently shedded its ‘golden generation’ and now has a core of young players emerging.
