Level 1 Bet Builder Tip
⚽️ Mohamed Salah to score or assist
📈 Odds: 1.44
This could be a potentially tricky test for Liverpool against a Bologna side who are unbeaten in five straight games. The Reds should look to their talisman Mohamed Salah to make the difference and taking him to score or assist feels like a wise option.
If Liverpool need someone to unlock this defence then the Egyptian King may well have the answer. He has scored or assisted in 6 out of 8 competitive games for Liverpool this season so this is very much a proven and reliable contributor towards the home attack. It covers both bases and the fact he will be on penalty duty only adds to the appeal.
🎯 Dominik Szoboszlai to have 2+ shots
📈 Odds: 1.40
The prime goal scoring threat from a deeper position for Liverpool is Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai. It’s already clear that Szoboszlai is a key man for the new boss Arne Slot and he’s always going to be a danger from set pieces or long shots. Taking him to have two or more shots looks like a decent bet builder piece at 1.40.
He averages 1.50 shots per 90 mins in the Premier League this season and fired in three shots vs Milan in the first matchday – all of which were actually on target. Maybe on the big stage he likes to showcase his talents more and make a difference.
🛑 Stefan Posch to commit 1+ fouls
📈 Odds: 1.25
Bologna average the most fouls per game of any team in Serie A (15.5) so it makes sense to look at some of their individual players in the fouls market. This is a tough away match under the lights at Anfield and Bologna are going to come under a lot of pressure. Mistimed challenges and desperate lunges could happen for the visitors.
Austrian international Stefan Posch looks set for a very difficult evening at right back. He’s going to be facing the likes of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez or Luis Diaz who are strong technical players likely to draw fouls. This is a fairly basic addition to your Liverpool vs Bologna bet builder but it makes logical sense. Posch averages two fouls per 90 mins in Serie A and it’s hard to envisage a clean game from him.
🛑 Riccardo Orsolini to commit 1+ fouls
📈 Odds: 1.36
Another player averaging a high foul rate this season is right winger Riccardo Orsolini. He’s committed exactly two fouls per 90 mins in Serie A and has a knack of giving away cheap free kicks in safe areas of the pitch. He managed to play a clean match against Shakhtar in gameweek one but that was facing a completely different type of opponent.
The whole Bologna team will be expected to chip in defensively which means there might be an expectation he faces the likes of Luis Diaz and Andy Robertson. Orsolini usually only lasts about 65 mins before being subbed off which gives him a license to offend more. Taking him to commit just one or more fouls looks a good addition to your bet builder.

Level 2 Bet Builder Tip
🚩 Over 9.5 corners
📈 Odds: 1.65
Liverpool matches average 8.80 corners in the Premier League this season. They have racked up 5.20 themselves and are usually reliable at supplying decent corner numbers especially at home. Bologna fixtures average 9.50 per game in Serie A and they rack up a healthy 4.50 per game themselves. Both teams play a 4-2-3-1 system which looks to stretch the game out wide sometimes.
Liverpool are very big on set pieces and don’t usually turn down the chance of earning corners if given the opportunity. Bologna amassed 8 corners in their UCL opener vs Shakhtar and between the two sides there should be enough mileage for over 9.5 total corners in the game.
⚽️ Luis Diaz to score or assist
📈 Odds: 1.83
Liverpool’s Colombian international has been in excellent form this season weighing in with five goals and an assist. In their most recent home match he bagged a brace of goals vs Bouremouth and his record at home has been especially impressive this season. He should be given the start again and get enough opportunities to find the back of the net.
Diaz is known more for being a goalscorer, but does have over 30 career assists so let’s play it safe in this bet builder and back him to score or assist. It covers both angles for an in-form player who has looked razor sharp at the start of this campaign.
🎯 Santiago Castro to have 2+ shots
📈 Odds: 1.67
Bologna could be underrated in the shots market here. They average 13.50 shots per game in Serie A which is a decent number and it’s possible they could come to Anfield with little fear and nothing to lose. It wasn’t so long ago that Bournemouth came here and racked up a massive 19 shots against Liverpool so it’s well worth looking at some potential players who could go well.
Santiago Castro is projected to start upfront for the Italian visitors so backing him to have just two or more shots looks very possible for him. He averages 2.80 shots per 90 mins in Serie A this season so if he matches that here then it will be enough to cash a winner.
🎯 Riccardo Orsolini to have 2+ shots
📈 Odds: 1.57
Staying on the Bologna shots theme, Riccardo Orsolini is another who stands out. He might only be on the field for 65-70 mins but the right winger is one of the best technical players in the team and might even get a cheap shot or two away on a set piece situation.
Orsolini averages 2.40 shots per 90 mins in Serie A this season and has been a reliable player in this department down the years. Taking him just to have two attempts or more looks like a decent addition to any Liverpool vs Bologna bet builder. The visitors are underrated from a shots perspective because they are priced as such a big underdog.
