Mohamed Salah to have 2+ Shots on Target

Salah has had two shots on target in two of the three meetings between the sides this season. He scored from the penalty spot in the most recent meeting between against Spurs, which ended in a 4-0 victory for Liverpool.

Salah had four shots on target in that 4-0 win and also notched a brace from three shots on target in the initial league meeting between the sides, in which Liverpool ran out 6-3 winners. Salah is averaging 1.75 shots on target per 90 in the Premier League this season but this Tottenham backline have already shown how susceptible they can be, which should give Salah more chances here.

Liverpool hit double digits for shots on target in each of these games which suggests that they simply have too much attacking power for Tottenham and should be able to find the target with regularity here.

Pedro Porro to be Fouled 1+ Times

Porro has won 30 fouls across his 31 Premier League appearances this season, 26 of these have been starts taking his average to 1.10 fouls won per 90.

He was fouled twice in Tottenham’s only win over Liverpool this season in the Carabao Cup but didn’t feature in the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the second leg. Porro is quite forward thinking, this aids him when it comes to winning fouls as he often finds himself up against the opposite fullback.

Porro is likely to come up against Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz on that side of the pitch for Liverpool, the pair rotate with Slot still yet to settle on a number nine he’s fully content with despite how effective Liverpool have been going forward this season. Gakpo is averaging 0.92 fouls committed per 90 in the Premier League this season and Diaz is more of a threat, averaging 1.92 fouls committed per 90. These numbers suggest that Porro is likely to be in the firing line of a Liverpool side that are averaging 11.4 fouls committed per game.

Over 2.5 Goals

Two of the three meetings between these sides this season have produced 3+ goals, the exception being the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final tie which is always quite a cagey affair. Liverpool will be in a buoyant mood with only a point needed to secure the Premier League title for the second time in their history.

The other head-to-head meetings between these sides have been action packed. There were nine goals in the initial league meeting between these sides as Liverpool ran out 6-3 winners and this selection also landed in the second leg of that cup tie with Liverpool firing four goals past Tottenham without reply. Liverpool could well cover this line on their own if Tottenham are unable to get going in forward areas.

Tottenham have seen 3+ goals in their last three Premier League matches and are likely to take a bit of a relaxed approach to this game, with plenty of changes likely ahead of their Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday.

Liverpool (-1 Handicap)

This selection has landed in both of Liverpool’s wins over Tottenham this season. Tottenham haven’t won at Anfield in the Premier League since 2011 and their league form this season suggests that they will have to wait a bit longer for that victory.

Liverpool will be crowned league champions with just a point here but Arne Slot’s men have the ability to go through the gears in the final third and make this quite an unpleasant afternoon for Tottenham. Spurs are likely to rotate with their Europa League first leg semi-final tie against Bodo/Glimt to come on Thursday, which should give Liverpool even more agency to establish a commanding lead here.

Liverpool boast the best home record in the Premier League this season, winning 13 of their 16 games at Anfield. They’ve scored 34 goals across these games which is a total only bettered by Newcastle and Manchester City on familiar territory this term. Perhaps more importantly, they’ve only conceded 12 goals across these games which is the second best home defensive record in the Premier League behind Nottingham Forest.

Dominik Szoboszlai to Score or Assist

Szoboszlai has made a habit of scoring against Tottenham this season, he’s found the back of the net in both of Liverpool’s victories over Spurs this term and has also provided an assist across those two fixtures.

These numbers suggest that Szoboszlai can hurt Tottenham again here. Tottenham are likely to be vulnerable at the back with the rotation Ange Postcoglu is set to bring in for this game, with a more important clash to come in Europe on Thursday.

Szoboszlai has registered eight goal contributions across his 31 Premier League appearances this season. He really should have more goal contributions playing for a side like Liverpool, especially when it comes to creating chances - the three assists he’s registered this season doesn’t quite line up with the attacking ability that Liverpool have to offer. However, his tendency to produce against Tottenham should see him get more chances to improve that output here.

Lucas Bergvall to be Shown a Card

Bergvall has been a shining light in what has been a very difficult season for Tottenham. The 19-year-old has stepped up at times this season, as shown by his winner against Liverpool in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final clash between these sides, a game in which he was also shown a yellow card.

Bergvall has received three yellow cards across his 10 Premier League starts this season which is a pretty steady record. He’s averaging 1.61 fouls committed per 90 in the Premier League this season which is reflective of his combative style in the middle of the park. Bergvall has also picked up five yellow cards across the Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup this season.

Tottenham to Commit 11+ Fouls

Tottenham’s season has been marred with frustration and this is starting to show in their foul numbers. Ange Postecoglu’s side are averaging 11.7 fouls committed per game in the Premier League and have committed 11+ fouls in four of their last five Premier League outings.

Tottenham have fallen a few fouls short of this line in the head-to-head meetings between these sides but their recent upturn in fouls suggests that they can cross this line at Anfield. Only four teams in the Premier League are averaging more fouls committed per game this season than Spurs. This selection has won in their last four league matches, and in nine of their last 10, too.

3+ Tottenham Corners

One area where Tottenham have been strong all season is corners. Tottenham are one of the most unique sides in the league in the sense that they create as many chances from corners as they concede.

They’ve crossed this line in two of the three head-to-head meetings between the sides, including their 4-0 loss at Anfield in the most recent matchup, in which they racked up four corners despite being completely dominated in the game and not even having a shot on target. Tottenham are averaging 6.31 corners per game on the road in the Premier League this season, well above what we need here.
