Only Ryan Yates has committed more fouls in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest this season than fellow midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. Yates has given away 21 fouls in 13 league games, while Gibbs-White has committed 17 fouls in just 9 appearances.

The former Wolves midfielder and now England international is committing an average of 1.88 fouls per game in the Premier League, and he will have to do a lot of chasing against a Man City side that like to dominate the possession. With all that in mind, you can see why we’re backing Gibbs-White to commit at least one foul on Wednesday night.

Ryan Yates is a combative midfielder for Nottingham Forest, one that has committed 21 fouls in the Premier League this season which is the highest of any of his team-mates. However, Yates is also the most fouled player in the Forest side having drawn 28 fouls so far.

Yates’ nearest team-mate, Elliot Anderson, has been fouled 23 times so far but that is still some way off his tally. We’re backing Yates to get fouled at least two times on Wednesday night against Man City and the fact that Yates is being fouled an average of 2.15 times per game this season only adds further weight to our selection.

Erling Haaland has scored 8 goals in his last 10 matches at club and international level, with his last two City goals arriving in the 3-3 draw with Dutch side Feyenoord in the Champions League.

No Man City player has taken more shots in the Premier League this season than Haaland (61) and the Norwegian striker is averaging 5.09 shots per game. Haaland has hit the target 32 times from his 61 shots which makes for a shots on target ratio of 52.5% and we’ve backed him to find the target with at least two shots on Wednesday against Nottingham Forest.

While we’re expecting Man City to make a return to winning ways on Tuesday night, we don’t expect the hosts to have things all their own way. Forest have been better on their travels than they have in their own backyard this season and boast three players that have had 20 or more shots in the Premier League this season.

Brazilian international Ederson has started 12 of Man City 13 league games this season but was dropped for the 2-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday. In those 12 games, Ederson has faced 43 shots on target and has made 27 saves, which makes for a save percentage of 62.8%. Ederson is making an average of 2.25 saves per game in the league this season and we’re backing the Brazilian to make at least 3 saves on Wednesday night.

New Zealand striker Chris Wood has been in great form for Nottingham Forest this season and scored the winner against Ipswich last time out. Only Ryan Yates (21) has had more shots than Wood (20) for Nottingham Forest this season.

However, Wood is the only Forest player to have reached double figures in the shots on target department (13) which only goes to highlight his accuracy in front of goal. Wood is averaging 1.79 shots per game in the Premier League this season and given Man City’s recent run of form, there is a good chance that the New Zealand international will create at least two shooting opportunities at the Etihad this week.

We’re expecting both teams to score in this game as Man City’s defence has looked poor of late but they still carry the biggest goal threat in the Premier League, while Nottingham Forest have been finding the back of the net on a regular basis of late.

Pep Guardiola’s side have only managed to keep clean sheets in 15% of their league games this season and Forest have only managed to keep their opponents out in 38% of their fixtures. Both teams have scored in 67% of City’s home games so far and the English giants have conceded in 83% of their first halves at the Etihad, while half of Forest’s away games have ended with both teams scoring.
