Semenyo hasn’t scored in the Premier League since the start of October, but has still been producing top performances for the Cherries, with his shot volume standing out in this clash.

Semenyo has had 34 shots across his 14 appearances in the Premier League this term (2.43 per 90) with 19 of those attempts finding the target (1.36 per 90). Semenyo has had a shot on target in four of his last five Premier League appearances, with three of those matches seeing him have multiple shots on target.

This shows that Semenyo can still maintain a decent level of form when it comes to his shot output, even when Bournemouth aren’t in their best form overall, with the Cherries without a victory across their last five Premier League matches.

Semenyo has had more shots and shots on target than any other Bournemouth player this season, so he’s clearly their main attacking threat and can produce similar numbers here as Bournemouth look to unsettle the United backline. Semenyo is also Bournemouth’s top scorer in the Premier League with six goals so far.

Mbeumo has been a consistent performer for Manchester United this season and has won 18 fouls across his 15 Premier League appearances (1.23 per 90). He’s been fouled in three of his last five Premier League appearances and should be in the spotlight to be hauled down a few times here against a very aggressive Bournemouth side.

Andoni Iraola has noted that his side are lacking the energy levels they readily displayed last season with a small squad, causing Bournemouth issues, even though the Cherries aren’t in Europe. However, Iraola went on to say that he will still demand that his side play in the same way, with Bournemouth continuing to press from the front and having one of the lowest PPDAs in the Premier League.

This represents a real problem for Andoni Iraola, as this porous backline has led to Bournemouth winning just one of their seven away matches, offering promise for Manchester United to get a positive result here.

Manchester United have seen 3+ goals in three of their last five matches across all competitions, and have generally offered Old Trafford more attractive viewing than they did last season. Ruben Amorim’s side have seen 20 goals across their seven games at Old Trafford (2.85 per game) and will be aware of Bournemouth’s issues at the back on the road, prompting what should be an entertaining encounter.

Bournemouth’s aggression is a key part of their game, but they’ve lacked the energy to apply it effectively in a press as they did last season. This has led to Bournemouth getting the timing of their press wrong, or sides missing out the press altogether with a long ball, and has resulted in the Cherries winning just one of their seven away matches this term.

The reason that Bournemouth’s press not working is so detrimental to their overall performance is because winning the ball high up the pitch is seen as a method of chance creation, without that - Bournemouth rely on moments of individual brilliance or set pieces. 

The Cherries have picked up more yellow cards than any other side in the Premier League this season (38), with frustration at poor recent results contributing to their healthy card count in recent matches. Manchester United have drawn 2+ cards from their opponents in each of their last three Premier League matches. 

Bournemouth have picked up 2+ cards in 13 of their 15 Premier League matches this season, including all seven of their away matches.

Justin Kluivert has only started six games in the Premier League this season due to injury, but has picked up three yellow cards across these matches, with his latest coming in Bournemouth’s 1-0 defeat against Everton.

Kluivert picked up eight yellow cards in the Premier League last season, so he does have an aggressive side to his gam,e which isn’t always obvious when watching him, as he’s more renowned for his quality on the ball.

Kluivert committed three fouls in this fixture last season, and was shown a yellow card in the 1-1 draw between the sides at the Vitality Stadium in the reverse fixture. He’ll be up against Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, who have won 2.79 fouls per 90 combined in the Premier League this season.

Ruben Amorim is a massive fan of Mason Mount and often looks to make room for him in the team. Mount scored against Wolves in United’s 4-1 win on the road last time out, marking his third Premier League goal of the season - the most he’s managed for United since joining the club back in 2023.

Mount offers United a bit of balance as he can drop back into midfield to assist Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro when United get overpowered or outrun in that area. His underlying numbers are quite strong, with 1.23 chances created per 90 and 2.15 shots per 90, and there is no denying that this is the best version of Mount we’ve seen in a United shirt.

I think the momentum he’s generated from goals against Wolves and Crystal Palace in recent weeks will extend to this clash with the Cherries being particularly vulnerable on the road, having conceded 19 goals across their seven away matches this term.

Casemiro isn’t the first name that comes to mind when looking to back a player for a shot on target, but his performances have improved this season, and he’s popped up with three goals for United in the Premier Leagu,e which suggests that he can offer a good alternative to the more shortly priced options in the United side to find the target.

Casemiro’s main threat comes from set pieces. Two of his three goals in the Premier League have come from corners, though only six of his 19 attempts have been from inside the box, which tells us that Casemiro also doesn’t mind taking aim from range. 

Bournemouth’s main priority will be keeping things tight at the back due to their shocking defensive record on the road this term, so United may be faced with a low block that requires speculative efforts, or set pieces, to break it down. Casemiro can be useful in these scenarios as one of the more capable United players in the air, as well as being willing to take on an effort from distance.
