Brommapojkarna v Osters
🏟
Monday 27th June – 6:00PM KO
Last season, Brommapojkarna were promoted back into the second division after finishing top of Division 1 Norra. They switched managers during the off-season, though, and the goodwill for Roberth Bjorknesjo has carried them into a solid start to the season.
Their most recent outing, before the international break, was a comfortable 2-0 win away at ten man Orebro. That victory means they begin the restart of the league sitting in the top-half of the table with just one defeat in their last six matches. They have been an entertaining watch this season with their ten matches consisting of 40 goals.
They now face an Osters side that come into this on the back of back-to-back victories before the break, a couple of weeks ago. The visitors did lose 2-1 at home to second-tier Hammarby in a friendly last week, though. They have been very strong this season – but it is the pre-season expectations of their supporters.
After a fifth place finish last season, Srdjan Tufegdzic is expected to mount and sustain a serious challenge for the top three and promotion to the top-flight this season. They have also been relatively fun to watch, having scored and conceded more than a goal per game on average so far this season.
Given that these are two sides in the top-half of the table, buoyant after victories in their most recent outings – and the fact their records up to this point suggest a consistent ability to score relatively freely, this should be an entertaining match.

Halmstad v Trelleborg
🏟
Tuesday 28th June – 6:00PM KO
This match is being played between two very different standards of teams. Halmstad begin the return to Superettan action sitting at the top-of-the-table, whilst Trelleborg are firmly ensconced in the middle-of-the-table.
Halmstad suffered a surprise relegation from the Allsvenskan in 2022 and will have been fully expecting to be challenging for the title throughout the campaign. They come into this on the back of a surprise 2-2 draw with ten man Vasteras in their most recent outing at the end of May but that match was thrilling.
They conceded two goals inside the opening ten minutes against the strugglers before Vasteras’ Daniel Ask was sent off with about 20 minutes to go. However, they scored two goals in two minutes in stoppage-time of the second-half to dramatically rescue a point and extend their unbeaten run of form to eight matches.
They now face a Trelleborg side that took a point from the Superettan draw specialists Landskrona in their most recent outing in the league. The visitors finished seventh last season and that, under the management of Kristian Haynes, will be seen as par for the course for the away team and it does appear that another season sitting in the middle-of-the-table is likely.
Halmstad, especially buoyed by that rescued result against Vasteras a few weeks ago, will be expected to assert their superiority and dominate this match quite comfortably – especially with home advantage.

J-Sodra v OIS
🏟
Tuesday 28th June – 6:00PM KO
These are two sides that are set for a long and hard battle against relegation throughout the campaign. This is 14th versus 16th and a match that will not be looked forward to by many neutrals and even those that are partisan.
Jonkopings Sodra are currently managed by Andreas Brannstrom and they are struggling. They began this return to second-tier action, sitting in the relegation playoff place. Their most recent outing was a 2-0 defeat to Osters, making it back-to-back losses. The home team are now winless in their last three with just two victories in their opening ten matches so far.
Despite that, they have been quite entertaining to watch. So, despite being third-from-bottom in the table, they have managed 17 goals in their ten games. That means only five teams have scored more goals than J-Sodra. However, the 23 goals that they have conceded is the most in the division.
It is only the most in the division by one, though. The team that have conceded 22 goals so far this season? That’s right, it is OIS. Orgryte sit firmly at the bottom-of-the-table, having drawn four and lost six of their opening ten games. They are the only team in Sweden’s second division to remain winless after such a chunk of the campaign.
However, just like J-Sodra, they aren’t lacking in attack. They have also managed to score more than a goal per game. It is a more modest tally of 12 scored but averaging 1.2 goals per game will give them a chance of collecting points, should they make sure that defence up.
These are two sides that have shown they are capable of scoring goals but they have both conceded a combined total of 45 goals so far this season. So, whilst it may not be that appealing to the neutral at first glance, it could well be a high-scoring affair.
