We’ve taken this angle on a few occasions this season, and my interest is always piqued when Cristante is priced like this for a few fouls. He’s committed a foul in each of his last five Serie A appearances, committing 2+ fouls in three of these games - one of which was the last time we backed Cristante for 2+ fouls.

He’s committed 60 fouls across his 33 starts overall in Serie A this season (1.89 per 90), so this is a consistent part of his game as well as being something that’s been landing in his recent matches. Only Mancini has committed more fouls for Roma in Serie A this season than Cristante, and he’s priced at 1.44 to commit 2+ fouls here - so taking Cristante at a more appealing price looks like a decent angle here.

Cristante committed three fouls in the most recent head to head meeting between the sides, accounting for almost 40% of the total fouls that Roma committed in that game.
