🟢 European Hangover For Hibs
Hibernian could have been suffering from a European hangover when drawing 2-2 with Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday. The capital club looked to be on track to make it two wins from two in the top-flight before letting a two-goal lead slip. Therefore, manager David Gray will have to ensure his side guards against complacency when they reconvene with Partizan Belgrade this week.
Martin Boyle bagged a brace in last week's 2-0 win in Belgrade, breaking through the 100-goal barrier for the club in the process. After starting Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock on the bench, the Hibs forward will almost certainly come back into the starting XI on Thursday night.
⚫ Magnificent Seven For Partizan
As mentioned, Partizan Belgrade bounced back from last week’s first leg defeat with a stunning 7-2 success away at Napredak in the Serbian SuperLiga on Sunday. It was a real clinical display from Srdjan Blagojevi’s side, who made the net bulge with seven of their nine on-target efforts.
Moreover, the manner of that victory will have restored confidence and given the Belgrade giants belief that they can rescue their Europa Conference League campaign in the Scottish capital on Thursday night.
Despite receiving a first-half red card in last week’s first leg, Partizan enjoyed the majority of possession (51%) and registered seven shots on target to Hibs’ five, further suggesting that this tie may not be done and dusted.
📊 Hibernian v Partizan Belgrade H2H
