🥇 Haaland to Win Golden Boot
It’s difficult to look beyond Erling Haaland winning the Golden Boot award again. After scoring a record-breaking 36 goals in his maiden Premier League season, Haaland claimed his second successive top goalscorer gong by netting 27 goals en-route to City’s fourth top-flight title in a row. That means the Man City goal machine has scored 63 Premier League goals in 66 outings across the past two seasons.
In fact, that remarkable goal return has never been matched by any other player across their first two seasons in the English top-flight. Haaland’s goal-scoring exploits are made all the more impressive by the fact that he has scored a staggering six hat-tricks in the process.
After finishing the season as the division’s leading marksman again last year, the Norwegian sharpshooter became the first player to bag the Golden Boot award in successive campaigns since Harry Kane back in 2016-17. A natural born goalscorer, Haaland will now be aiming to join an elite club that includes both Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry by becoming only the third player in history to pocket the Premier League Golden Boot prize three years in a row,
While Haaland failed to hit the same heights as his debut season in English football, he did miss six games across the campaign through injury, yet he still managed to finish five goals in front of nearest challenger Cole Palmer. What’s more, having not been involved in either Euro 2024 or the Copa America over the summer, the City ace should be well-rested and ready to hit the ground running this season.
Haaland is the 1.73 favourite on Betfair to finish the campaign as the Premier League’s top goalscorer for a third year on the spin and it would take a brave man to back against him.

🏹 Isak to Win Golden Boot
Fresh off the back of a stunning second season with Newcastle, Alexander Isak looks well placed for another fruitful campaign in front of goal. After scoring 10 goals in 27 appearances during his first Premier League campaign, the Swedish striker hit an impressive 21 goals last term, a tally bettered only by Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer in the goalscoring charts.
Breaking the 20 goal barrier last season also meant Isak became the first Newcastle player to score 20+ goals in a single top-flight season since club legend Alan Shearer. Consequently, Newcastle’s record signing is thought to be a man in demand this summer, though Magpies Eddie Howe has issued a hands-off warning to potential suitors.
While Isak performed well throughout last season, he did enjoy a particularly red hot streak in front of goal during the campaign’s final stretch. The Swedish goal-getter netted 11 goals across his final 12 appearances of the season, meaning he should enter the forthcoming campaign brimming with confidence.
On top of this, Isak was afforded the luxury of being able to sit back and relax this summer, so he should also be fresh and raring to go. The Toon Army attacker should also benefit from the fact that Newcastle will not have continental commitments to contend with this season.
On paper, the Premier League fixture computer looks to have been relatively kind to Newcastle across the opening five games of the season, so there is plenty of scope for Isak to build some early goalscoring momentum. The Magpies marksman will also be on penalty kick duty, which is always a key consideration and added bonus for any top goalscorer punt.
Assuming he sticks around, Isak merits strong support in this season’s race for the Golden Boot award at 15.0 on Betfair.

💣 Mateta to win the Golden Boot
Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta ended last season in scintillating form and he looks a lively outsider to land the Golden Boot award at 41.0 on Betfair. Since his appointment as manager in February, Oliver Glasner has completely transformed the fortunes of Crystal Palace, with the aforementioned Mateta one of the main beneficiaries.
The French forward found a new lease of life under Glasner’s guidance, netting 13 goals in his 13 appearances since the Austrian took the reins at Selhurst Park. That impressive goal haul included a pair of braces as well as a stunning final day of the season hat-trick against Aston Villa.
It also capped off a memorable campaign for Mateta on a personal front, as his overall goal return of 19 was a career-high for him during a single season, not to mention he was subsequently rewarded with a place in Thierry Henry’s France squad for this summer’s Olympics in Paris.
Crystal Palace will be many observers’ potential top-six dark horses and the aforementioned Mateta’s goalscoring form could prove pivotal to the Eagles’ European hopes and dreams.
The French striker flourished in a three-month spell under Glasner and he should go from strength to strength over the course of a full season, making him a value left-field selection for Golden Boot honours at 41.0 on Betfair.
