Real Madrid will seek to employ all their Champions League know-how to secure their passage through to the quarter-finals of the competition after riding their luck to claim a 1-0 first-leg victory in Germany.
That encounter was very even but a brilliant individual goal from Brahim Diaz was enough to give Carlo Ancelotti’s side the victory.
With a formidable home record and bags of European experience, Los Blancos will expect to navigate this tie safely, particularly given Leipzig have failed to rediscover their best level following the winter break.
While Real Madrid have only lost to neighbours Atletico this season, their opponents have lost five of the nine matches they have played in 2024.
Indeed, if RB Leipzig are to produce an improbable turnaround, they will have to produce the type of statement victory that has so far eluded them this season. Even in the group stage, they negotiated a relatively kind pool by winning their four fixtures against Young Boys and Red Star while suffering two defeats against Manchester City.
Anything but the home side progressing, then, would come as a major surprise, but how is the Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig bet builder shaping up?

⚽ Match stats: Real Madrid in the driving seat?
Anything but a Real Madrid win would come as a huge surprise. Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been almost flawless at the Bernabeu this season, winning 14 of the 16 games they have played at the venue, and drawing the other two.
A Leipzig side that has already lost five times on the road in the Bundesliga this season is unlikely to pose too much of a threat to the hosts, who have scored 31 and conceded only seven at the Bernabeu in league play.
Real Madrid’s European fixtures, though, do not necessarily point to a landslide win, although a 4-2 victory over Napoli in the Spanish capital was rather impressive. They have hosted German opponents this season in the form of Union Berlin and recorded a 1-0 victory thanks to an extremely late Jude Bellingham goal, but they dominated that game with 32 shots and 76% possession.
Goals are certainly a probability. Although there was only one strike in the first leg, Leipzig are likely to take the game to their opponents here and this risk-loving attitude could result in a relatively open affair.
Five of seven of Real Madrid’s Champions League games this season have produced at least three goals, while six of RB Leipzig’s have seen at least that many goals. Indeed, both teams to score also looks like a strong possibility.
Predictions:
⚽ Real Madrid to win @ 1.57
⚽ Over 2.5 goals @ 1.50
⚽ Both teams to score @ 1.57
🎯 Shooting stats: Bellingham to star again
Jude Bellingham offers the best value for Real Madrid in terms of an anytime scorer. The England international has 20 goals in all competitions this season, six clear of anyone else in the squad, and has bagged four in the Champions League. He’s also proven himself the man for the big occasion this season, and with a domestic ban looming, expect him to play 90.
Bellingham has been highly efficient with his shooting, though, and there are better options when it comes to shots on target. Vini Jr is leading Real Madrid in terms of shots on target per 90 this season at 1.52 while Rodrygo is leading the way in terms of shots at 3.43.
The Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig Cheat Sheet shows that the German side actually averaged more goals and shots on target than their hosts this season, so should not be discounted.
Benjamin Sesko ran riot in the first leg but was wasteful in front of goal. He had six shots and four on target, and while Madrid will be stouter defensively this time around, his threat should not be discounted, even if Lois Openda averages both more shots and shots on target per 90. Averaging 2.75 shots per 90 this season, odds of 1.36 for him to hit just two is a nice way to boost a Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig bet builder.
Predictions:
⚽ Jude Bellingham to score anytime @ 2.30
⚽ Vinicius Junior to have 2+ shot on target @ 1.50
⚽ Benjamin Sesko to have 2+ shots @ 1.36
🛑 Fouls stats: Camavinga to commit multiple fouls
Jude Bellingham is once again nice value to be fouled three times, bearing in mind he is likely to play 90 minutes due to his absence at the weekend. He is fouled on average 3.04 times per 90 and will go up against Amadou Haidara and Xaver Schlager, who are the two RB Leipzig players most active in terms of tackles. Only Willi Orban averages more fouls than Schlager, the RB Leipzig stats show.
On the other hand, Eduardo Camavinga is liable to commit at least 2 fouls. He averages 2.54 every 90 minutes, and up against Haidara, a battle should be anticipated.
From RB Leipzig’s perspective, there are a couple of attractive options when it comes to picking players to commit at least one foul. Both Xaver Schlager and David Raum both average more than 1 free kick conceded per 90. The former looks particularly good value at 1.22. Schlager gives up 1.36 fouls per game and typically plays 90 minutes. Odds of 3.75 on him to be booked are also tempting given the volume of fouls he gives up.
Raum, meanwhile, is slightly longer odds of committing a foul at 1.36 but does only average 1.03 fouls per match. He is shorter odds to pick up a booking at 3.5 and will be up against Rodrygo, who the Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig Cheat Sheet shows is fouled 1.74 fouls on average.
Predictions:
⚽ Jude Bellingham to be fouled 2+ times @ 1.36
⚽ Jude Bellingham to be fouled 3+ times @ 2.10
⚽ Eduardo Camavinga to commit 2+ fouls @ 1.53
⚽ Xaver Schlager to commit 1+ fouls @ 1.22
⚽ David Raum to commit 1+ fouls @ 1.36
