📈 Como v Roma Form & Stats
Roma were involved in a cagey 1-1 draw in the Europa League midweek, as they faced fellow Italian side Bologna in the first leg of the round of 16. Lorenzo Pellegrini scored the equalising goal for the visitors shortly after coming on, which is a result they would probably be happy with in the end. Mile Svilar was another standout performer, as he recorded four saves in between the sticks for Roma.
That result, however, means Roma have failed to win any of their last three matches, and they were beaten 2-1 by Genoa in their last league outing. The Romans were outclassed by Genoa, led by none other than Daniele De Rossi, as they conceded 2.75xG from 11 shots, while Roma mustered a measly 0.35xG from eight shots in return.
Como have had a full week to prepare for this fixture, and their recent form has been much more positive. Lucas Da Cunha’s goal in the 76th minute against Cagliari last time out earned three points for his side, extending their unbeaten run across all competitions to five games. They drew against Inter Milan and AC Milan in that stretch, while also beating Juventus.
📔 Como v Roma Formation & Team News
It wasn’t all good news for Como last weekend though, as Maximo Perrone had to be replaced in the first half due to injury. Maxence Caqueret and Mergim Vojvoda will battle it out to start in his place this weekend. Perrone joins Jayden Addai in the treatment room, so Martin Baturina should continue on the flank, hoping to provide for Anastasios Douvikas up front.
Roma are expected to make a few changes from their midweek lineup, as Gian Piero Gasperini will hope to mitigate the fixture congestion. Pellegrini should return to the starting 11 here, with Bryan Zaragoza to drop out. Artem Dovbyk, Evan Ferguson and Paulo Dybala all remain out, which makes Malen a key player for Roma currently.
Matias Soule is another doubt, and it will be a race against time for Manu Kone to feature. Mancini was suspended midweek, but he should return to the starting 11 here, with Daniele Ghilardi being the prime candidate to drop to the bench.
