Ross Smith’s Group D encounter with Ritchie Edhouse at the Grand Slam of Darts on Saturday could be a lot closer than the pre-match odds suggest. Edhouse will be brimming with confidence after winning the first major title of his career at the tail end of last month. So rather than siding with Smith to prevail, instead look for him to hit over 2.5 180s at 1.67.
‘Smudger’ is well renowned for being one of the heaviest hitters across the entire PDC circuit. He has once again been one of the most frequent 180-scorers this calendar year, racking up 475 maximums, a tally topped by just six other players.
While Smith missed out on a spot at last year’s Grand Slam of Darts, he produced a number of roof-raising performances at this event back in 2022. The Dover dartist delivered a record-breaking nine 180s during his group stage game with Michael van Gerwen two years ago.
