Forfar should be heavily favoured to win their home match against Stirling Albion on Saturday, despite the visitors picking up a 2-1 win over Cowdenbeath on Tuesday.
The main thing going against the guests ahead of this match is chronic injury issues. Even before their midweek game, they were suffering badly from problems in defence and lost another couple of players in that match. Manager Darren Young has been forced to dip into the amateur ranks to try to find additional depth for his squad ahead of this encounter, while several players are expected to play in unfamiliar roles.
Stirling had not been going well in any case; they had lost five of their previous eight games before beating Cowdenbeath.
Forfar, meanwhile, have a stout home record. The Loons have won nine of their 14 home fixtures this season and have scored twice as many goals as they have conceded. Indeed, they have kept cleansheets in three successive home fixtures, including a victory over runaway league leaders Kelty. Against a Stirling side struggling for goals, they will be hopeful of extending that run.
Their playoff position is not yet secured but this is a game in which they will be targeting maximum points. Won 2-0 at home against the Binos earlier this season, and if there was to be a repeat of that result, it would not be a surprise at all.

Annan have surpassed expectations this season by pushing up to second in League Two and have been in especially good form in recent weeks. Indeed, they have won four of their last five fixtures, including a 2-0 midweek success against Saturday’s opponents less than a month ago.
The hosts find themselves in excellent goal scoring form, having netted 13 times over the course of these five matches, while at home they have lost only one of their last 10. Incidentally, this run includes a thumping 4-1 success over Elgin, who they have already defeated three times this season.
Only striker Tommy Goss is under threat of missing out of this game because of injury, although their opponents will also travel south with a strong pool of players available.
Elgin, meanwhile, have shown some improved form in recent weeks. They won at home to a depleted Stirling and then grimly held out to draw with Forfar last weekend, but the five successive defeats they suffered before that is more representative of their overall form this season.
Away from home, meanwhile, they have invariably struggled. They have won only two of their 14 away trips while suffering nine defeats. It is a bleak run that is unlikely to end when they make the longest away journey in Scottish football this season – a round trip of around 10 hours that will be gruelling for the part-time side.
