Celtic v Rangers (Premiership)
🏟
Sunday 1st May – 12:00PM KO
Sunday’s Old Firm game comes at a tough time for Rangers, with it sandwiching two Europa League semi-final encounters against RB Leipzig, which they cannot afford to treat anything but seriously. This, then, is the second of three huge fixtures in succession for the Ibrox club – a week that is bound to take its toll mentally and physically on the players.
Although Rangers won the last meeting between these sides in the Scottish Cup semi-final just a couple of weeks ago, it is Celtic who hold the upper hand going into this match because of the six-point advantage they hold in the league. Even a draw in this match would not be a bad result for the Hoops, yet they will be going to land the knockout blow in the title race.
Celtic have won the last two meetings between these sides in the league, including a 2-1 victory at Ibrox on April 3 and it is easy to see this match following along those lines. The hosts have, after all, won their last six league matches, while the only three occasions they have slipped up since the end of September is because they have been held to scoreless draws away from home.
Rangers, after all, will be depleted offensively and have suffered from channelling much of their energy towards Europe lately. Even though they have won five of their last six in the league, only one of these victories has come with any ease. Look for the Gers to suffer after a gruelling sequence.

Alloa v Montrose (League One)
🏟
Saturday 30th April – 3:00PM KO
Alloa will be seeking to finish their league campaign on a high against a Montrose side that has qualified for the playoffs, and Brian Rice’s men are more than capable of doing just that.
The home side have shown some good form lately and are coming off the back of four wins in their last six matches, including an excellent derby success last weekend against Falkirk. After a poor start to the season, their level has increased substantially since Rice took charge in the middle of February, with two of their three losses coming against the leading pair of teams in the league.
Montrose, meanwhile, have limped into third place in the league. Over the course of their last 15 matches, they have earned only five victories, while they will surely be protecting themselves ahead of a playoff meeting with Airdrie in midweek, particularly as they are running short on central defenders, which will be a crisis in those encounters in any case.
Meanwhile, Montrose have not beaten Alloa yet this season. They lost 2-0 at home to them in September and have since followed that match up with a pair of score draws against the Wasps. With their thoughts on their upcoming matches against Airdrie, rotation is likely to be significant in this encounter and saving energy for the gruelling period ahead of paramount importance.
Alloa are in strong enough form to take advantage and may even be able to sneak a victory in this encounter, which is worth some consideration at 3.1.

Annan v Kelty (League Two)
🏟
Saturday 30th April – 3:00PM KO
Kelty will look to sign off as League Two champions on a high note against an Annan side that has the playoffs to look forward to.
While this should be a relaxed day for the guests, the home side are likely to want to regain some valuable momentum after a dreadful run of three successive defeats have allowed second place to slip from their grasp. Ultimately, this is unlikely to have lasting damage, but regaining some confidence ahead of a midweek playoff match against Forfar would be useful.
Annan’s games lately have been attractive affairs. In a league that has been chronically low, scoring 10 of their last 11 fixtures have produced at least three goals. Meanwhile, all of their previous three matches against Kelty have seen the ball find the net on at least three occasions.
The visitors, meanwhile, have been going through a relatively fallow spell of form. They have won only two of their last seven in the league, although in that time they have drawn on five occasions. Despite the league title being in the bag, these have often been uptight games.
Even if Kelty elect to rotate their squad for this game, they have good depth on the bench and these players will be eager to impress in order to secure contracts for next season.
With Annan seeking to regain some confidence and Kelty likely to be in a laid back mood, it should make for an attractive match between two teams whose recent history points to goals.
